To Protect and To Serve

by JohnKing in Law, September 1, 2007

Dedicated to law officers lost in the line of duty.

Officers of the law gladly bear the burden of the task to Protect and serve.
What this entails from day to day varies, but it is one of the riskiest jobs in the country.
Do you treat your police officers with respect?

I often hear cops referred to as Pigs, dough boys, and smurfs.
Many people refer to them this way because they believe the stereotype that cops are just fat doughnut eating people in blue suits.
I personally believe such names are derogatory.
Officers risk everything in the line of duty every day.

The least the people of their communities and those under their authority can do,
is treat them with respect.
Police officers give their hearts, blood and lives to make our communities and our country a better place.
Next time you see a police officer, don’t bad mouth, criticize or make fun of them.
Greet them with the honor and respect they have earned with thier dedication to their community safety.

This is to all officers killed in the line of duty, Thanking them for their sacrifices.
For those families who are forced by circumstances beyond their control to carry on in the aftermath, I want to offer my loving sympathies and condolences.

May blessings find you well

    Dear A. writer,

Thank you for this beautiful article. I share your sentiment. We need to honor, uplift and support all the people who are in this world with the courage and compassion to risk their lives for others…for strangers. We are all the better for it.

May your life always be filled with only the best and most beautiful things in life.

    Sincerely,

    -Liane Schmidt.

I loved this article! It is easier to bring a person down rather give them the honour they deserve. I agree that we must praise a person who is willing to serve his fellow man and we must be grateful to those who risk their lives trying to save others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
