A Journey to Excellence

Excellence is a voyage or a journey and not a destination. In other words, it is living with a purpose, integrity, perfection and rightness. It is also a long and continuing process that you must always maintain a life of vigilance and professionalism which means consistency of quality. Time ripens all things, and no man is born wise. Thus, it takes constant and regular practice.

The determination to brace the rough seas yet calmly assuring thyself with a peaceful outcome, excellence is from within not without, rather, it is aligning one’s desire to only the best in life. Sailing the deep waters and cloudy skies, with the hope that the voyager will reach his destination safely and soundly is not the utmost goal. For it is not about reaching it safely and soundly on the dry ground, it is about the expedition that took place.

It is with our aspiration for excellence; a daily endeavor to be reached, a never ending search for truth and beauty, an unrelenting display of creativity and craftsmanship, a search for inner excellence – a journey of both heart and mind. Excellence is not the certainty of all things, but it is the unearthing of all things perceived in novel ways.

Planning is important. Then, you follow the plan, make revisions as necessary, and persist on keeping on even when it is inconvenient or difficult. Never give up! Persist and be determined to finish the journey with revised and better plans.

A good education opens many doors. But common sense is the best kind of intelligence to have to attain excellence.

Be master of your will and yet a slave to your conscience and do not confuse comfort with happiness. Wealth isn’t necessarily success and life’s possibilities are endless. The best way to walk through life is with integrity gearing towards perfection. It is not enough to have great qualities but we must also have the right attitude.

Indeed, it is written that we must be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. Perfection is excellence in every way.
