A Kiss and Chivalry

Tonight I was reminiscing about his actions and decided to look up the different meanings of kisses. This is what I found for the cheek and hand kiss:

“Cheek Kiss – A friendly, “I really like you” kiss. Often the preferred kissing method of a first date. Hand Kiss – Gently raise her hand to your lips. Lightly brush your lips across the top of her hand. Historically this kiss was performed with a bow, which showed deference to a lady.”

Reading these whether they are accurate meanings of each kiss or not, truly made me feel good because they accurately reflected the way the kisses made me feel. I believe I received such beautiful gestures of respect because I gracefully demanded them with my actions.

Thus, by this simple situation and many others, I have learned that if you want to be treated like a lady, or for you men, like a gentlemen, it is quite easy. You must simply not only act like one, you must be one.

And, always keep in mind your actions define who you are and your character; and remember, we teach others how they are allowed to treat us.
