A Look Within

by Passionate about Poetry in Lifestyle Choices, February 5, 2009

A self discovery questionnaire for the creative mind.

In order to make significant changes in your own life you must make a conscious decision to look into your own eyes and steadily stare at the spirit that resides inside. You must demand truth and honesty to come forth and then be ready to confront yourself head on. This brief questionnaire will give you the opportunity to explore the mind of the person who knows you the best, that person is you. As you answer each question be prepared to experience a mixture of emotions.

Before you start this exercise I  encourage you to find a quiet place that will allow you to relax your body and mind. Play some relaxing music that will usher in a calming atmosphere. Concentrate on a very happy moment in your life and smile  with your eyes closed for about 5 to 7 minutes. Once you feel relaxed you can begin. After doing this relaxation exercise  as you have been instructed you are now ready to launch into the deep. I am going to partake in this exercise with you , on your  mark , get set and go .

1.What personal qualities about yourself you feel need improving?

Writer:The personal qualities that I need to improve on is being more accountable for time. I am poor with clock time management. I will probably be a better person if I valued time more . One specific area is arriving to my place of employment on time. I have become very complacent with getting there after my scheduled time. If I was reprimanded I probably would do better.

2. If you were to die today, what would your neighbors say about you at the funeral?

Writer :If I was to die today my neighbors would probably say we never got to know her, but we did get to know her schedule because she does everything systemically. Work Monday through Friday, Saturday out early in by 1 p.m. and always carrying some sort of bag.I l almost forgot my neighbors would probably laugh and say she needed some major work on her truck because it sounds terrible in the mornings when she warms it up.

3. What animal does your personality best resemble and why ?

Writer: I would say I probably would  resemble some exotic animal because I am very intriguing and weird  at times.

4. If you had to make the decision to save a total stranger from a house fire at the extent of losing your own life would you do it ?

Writer: I want to lie and say I would risk my life for a total stranger but the truth of the matter, I would probably have a hard time trying to go into a burning house for a total stanger. I would play some part in the rescue mission,  maybe calling 911.

5. What societal  casue describes your philosophy of life and why ?

Writer: I support the cause of Jesus Christ. I am a real advocate for Jesus. I chose to live my life to promote Jesus because he died for me and I don’t  know anyone else worthy than he.

6. During an intimate exchange do you prefer to be the giver or receiver?

Writer: I prefer to be the giver because I enjoy seeing others happy.

7. When prioritizing your life what number does religion take place ?

Writer: Religion / Building my relationship with Christ is number one.

8. Are you comfortable with your body image ?

Writer: I am now comfortable with my body image but there was a time when I thought my breast were too large so I chose to have a breast reduction. I was caught up in looking like the women in the magazines.

9. If you could go back in time , which time period would you resort back to and why ?

Writer: If I could go back in time, I would go back to age 19. I was in love with a wonderful man who I hurt emotionally out of selfishness.

10. Were you honest with yourself when answering these questions

Writer: I was very honest and I feel good after completing this exercise.
