A Path Made From Cracks

Have we lost sight of the true path? Has society taken hostage our freedom?

The path to success is crazy pavement. My last post got me thinking about the said, “path”. What is success and how do we judge whether someone is successful or not?

The first thing that entered my head was: money. Everything seems to revolve around money. For a start off: we are thrust into curriculum based schooling which will prepare us for work, so a good education is an indication of success. Having a well paid job is also considered successful. Having lots of things; meaningless things is another indication of apparent “success”. Whatever happened to love, peace, friends, family, freedom and all the other things that don’t, or shouldn’t, “cost” a thing?

You probably will have realised that everything around us is business. The society we live in is based around money and how much of it you can get. After all, money equates to freedom… Right?

Money seems to give us freedom; the more money you have, the more you can do. But isn’t it strange that to earn this freedom, we have to give up our freedom by working away most of our lives. Has society taken our freedom hostage?

It seems like we’ve lost sight of the “true path”, whatever that may be, and replaced it with our own. The trouble is, our own is full of cracks. We’ll just have to mind it doesn’t crumble from under our feet.
