A Way to Cut Your Problems in Half

Beginning is half the doing.

Successful people know that beginning is half the doing. The philosopher Aristotle is reputed to have said that the first step is what counts; that first beginnings are hardest to make, and as small as and inconspicuous as they are, potent in influence; but once they are made it is easy to add the rest.

And Goethe says:

What you can do, or dream you can, begin it,
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Only engage, and then the mind grows healed –
Begin it, and the work will be completed!

At any clinics, it is considered that patients’ problems are half solved before they meet the doctor or expert. The reason? They have usually been considering therapy for years and now that they have made an appointment, it is clear that they have finally decided to get started solving their problems. Beginning is half cure.
