Age Doesn’t Matter, But Matter Does Age
There are many things money can buy, but aging is inevitable. Here are some sentiments on aging.
Age matters when:
- … you want to lift something heavy but cannot;
- … you’re a bachelor and you like somebody young but she wants somebody her age;
- … you want to eat a lot of sweet, delicious food but cannot because of diabetes;
- … you have all the money to go on a world trip but you’re already too weak to even walk;
- … you wake up most of the night because you’re losing your melatonin;
- … you want to play with your kids but they’re already grown ups;
- … you want to cross the street but couldn’t figure out the traffic light;
- … you try reading the small labels but you left your glasses somewhere;
- … you want to avail of a scholarship but the maximum age is 35;
- … you meet somebody but couldn’t remember his/her name;
- … you want to type more but your fingers just wouldn’t budge;
- … you have trouble getting a new job you like because what they want is younger than 40;
- … you see your wrinkles creeping but none of the creams and foundations can remove it anymore;
- … your eyebags sag like a bulldog’s but cucumber does no good; and
- … you want to enjoy with friends but many of them are no longer around.
Age doesn’t matter when:
- … the lights are dim;
- … someone you liked is blind;
- … you have enough money to pay for your medical expenses; and
- … the game is mahjong.
It’s quite difficult figuring out things where age doesn’t matter. So better do everything you can while you’re young.

Excellent article. I really enjoyed the way you explained the point you were making. Age really does matter, until life has left you laying still.
Sorry, I am in a bit of a morbid mood.

Actually I was amused while writing it because some of those I mentioned are my real life difficulties. It pays to read some articles because it pops some ideas in your head.

Very nice. There is wisdom here. I guess the ability to enjoy solitude does not age with age. One thing my 102 year old granny used to say “At this age, I have learnt not to hurry for to hurry means to hurry to one’s grave. It’s so much nearer now.”
