Ah, the Joys of Technology

Can’t live without it … or can you?

When your computer is working properly, you realize how much more you can complete. When it’s not, you realize how much you must adjust your day and projects to accommodate the problem.

My sincere apologies, for the past couple of days my computer has not been working. As a result, I have been unable to read my fellow writers’ work. I am appreciative beyond words for the wonderful comments I did receive while I was away, however. I have finally been able to read them, and they are all heartwarming, kind, inspirational, and wonderful. I am truly blessed.

It is interesting though how easily you can adjust your habits/activities to accommodate changes in your life. Reading inspiration books has truly helped me keep my cool during some rough times. At first, because I thought I was so dependent on my computer, I was having a bit of a meltdown myself (exaggeration, but it threw me off track) without the use of it. I use my computer so much going a few days without it felt like suddenly someone had taken away my cell phone or worse my car! It’s incredible how dependent I had become on it.

But, in some ways I am glad that I had this happen to me. I realized my computer “habit” wasn’t as serious as I thought it might be. And, if fact, it allowed me some time to focus on some other things I had been wanting to give attention to. While my computer continues to give me problems from time to time – freezing up here and there – I cannot get it looked at until my newest steady job kicks in. I start on December 26th. Wish me luck! Hopefully, this is the right job for me!

(P. S. I will try to catch on my reading when I can and when my computer doesn’t freeze up. Thank you again, to all who have left me such wonderful comments and continue to support my writing and dreams! I am truly blessed beyond words and miss reading your work!)

Life certainly changes when our focus gets turned around! Luck has nothing to do with it, just your own sweet abilities!

I have been wondering too, if I am hooked on my computer. I do a lot of reading and other things but I still feel like I must get to the computer. I appreciate your support and your articles.

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I force myself to spend a day or part of a day not using my computer, just reading books or whatever. I think it’s important we remind ourselves sometimes that technology is a tool and shouldn’t be the be-all and end-all of life itself.
