All about using the power of your mind to change your life

I have been working with all kinds or people with all kinds of problems for the past six years. I have come to some very important conclusions that I want to share with you I decided to publish my own newsletter with my own money, which by the way I do not have a lot of. God has gifted me with great insight into human communication. He has given me the ability to see beyond the surface and get to the core of human thinking and interaction. I have studied human communication most of my adult life. It’s become an obsession. Everything you do is based on some type of communication. You are what you think. What you think is mostly how you act. And how you act is ultimately who you are.

Have you ever heard anyone say, “it’s all in your mind?” well they were right. You think so you are. If you want to change your life, you first have to get in touch with your brain. You have to completely reprogram the way you think. Most people are running on automatic pilot plodding along doing the same old thing in the same old way, and getting the same old results. Why is this? Why do people self-destruct? It’s sad look around you. People are confused, disoriented, angry, depressed, and selfish; the list goes on and on. The world seems to be on a collision course with disaster.

Listen, God has a plan for you. Yes God, remember him. Some of you never learned of God’s magnificent life changing power. Some of you have never put it to the test. Yes, you heard it right here. Put God to the test. Open your mind. Open your heart. Open your ears. Lift up your hands and praise him. Any dumb cluck can remain in the darkness and die. Any fool can go on living in misery. Now don’t get me wrong. Everybody sins and sins and sins. The difference is at some point you say enough is enough. I’ve had my fill. Stupid is as stupid does. So you knock off the big sins such as crack cocaine, all night drunken stupers, robbery, spousal abuse, lying, cheating, stealing, the list goes on and on. You say to yourself, “I’m tired of running from the cops. I’m sick of looking over my shoulder. The guilt is killing me. My health is bad. My conscious is overworked. My life needs a change.” So know what do you do?

First realize that what I have just told you is not true, but I did that for a reason. To get you to realize that sin is sin, wrong is wrong, and stupid is stupid. God forgives all sin, every single bit of it. He does not see sin by sin. He died for your sin not for your sins. Listen to me. If God judged you and me on every sin, we would all be in a heap of trouble. In fact everyone would go to hell, because everyone has sinned and fallen short. We are filthy rags, lower than dirt. It would be impossible to save ourselves on our good works. Now don’t get me wrong. You need to do good works, and live a good life. But nothing you could ever do on your own could get you to heaven. It doesn’t work that way.

Jesus died for your sin. He died for your every sin you have or will ever commit. If, and boy is that a big if, you believe and except him as your personal savior. Now let’s get to the hard part. The new birth. Do you believe you can be reborn again? Do you believe you can be alive and dead at the same time? Well you can. When you turn your life over to Christ and really believe that he died for your sins, and is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Your life will change forever. You will never be the same again.

Is all of this easy to do, and will it happen overnight? Will my life change forever? The answer to all of these questions is probably not. It’s up to you and your brain. The more garbage you have in your brain. The longer it will take to clear it out and get on course. Your brain is like a sponge soaking up everything in its path good or bad. But God gave us the ability to discriminate and sort out incoming information coming from our environment. He also gave us the ability to choose what type of environment we want to live in. In other words you are not at the mercy of anyone, because you are able to make choices based on reliable and sound input or information. The brain as a whole takes in information from the environment. Now it’s up to you to analyze that information or break it down into little pieces and decide what to do with it.

It always amazes me when I hear people say, “Why did I do that? Why did I say that? If I would have done such and such?” Listen to this. You are only as good as your past or current experience and the way you relate to those experiences. You’re only as good as the knowledge you possess at this very moment. Think about this very seriously. You are your brain, no more and no less. At this very moment you are the sum total of your thoughts. Everything you do, say, feel, or think is a product of the way you have learned to interpret your world. It may be right, it may be wrong. The outcome depends on the input.

Have you ever stopped to think that those of us who are mostly happy, healthy, somewhat safe and secure are that way because we choose to be; and those that are sad, frustrated, angry, depressed, and of ill health might be that way because they choose to be. Choice is a very powerful thing. The will to go on living, loving, forgiving, and taking care of our physical, mental, and spiritual well being is something to contemplate.

The choices we make everyday determine our destiny, and our future. The people we associate with determine the quality of our relationships. Our skill and ability to communicate is dependent on how we think and process information in our brains. Our choices are based on our interpretation of our environment.

You think so you are, you are so you think you are. The reason you are where you are at this very minute is because you choose to be there based on available and sometimes erroneous information. Most of who you are comes from distorted thinking; kind of like a computer with a bad virus. Most of you needs reprogrammed. You know the part of you that says, “Why did I do that? Why did I let that happen? What a stupid thing to say. How could I even let myself get into that situation?” and so on. It’s really hard to change, to reprogram so to speak. It takes a lot of work. It doesn’t happen overnight. You need some help. You have to work at it constantly. Some of you won’t ever change, because you are lazy, comfortable, complacent, or just plain ignorant.

You just keep on keeping on with the temper, the drinking problems, drugs, stress, overeating, and whatever else you do. Then sooner or later you will end up either divorced, out of a job, evicted from your house or apt., totally depressed or dead. Do you want to change? Can you change? Do you blame other people for your lot in life? Are you ready to put your foot down and say enough is enough? Don’t wait until it is too late. Let this be the day you say I will change my mind and change my life.
