Consideration for Others
Living in a society requires that we have a lot of consideration for those who live and work with us.

Decorum at home is important but even more significant is comportment in public. When in a crowd, people tend to behave in a rather unruly manner just because they feel that they are anonymous. It is perhaps in the crowded places that we see the worst sort of behavior. People tend to walk and move carelessly, pushing one another without any apology.
We should avoid inconveniencing others by taking care of items in our possession while we move around. For instance, shopping baskets, handbags and similar items should be held as close to the side as possible so that they do not bruise passers-by. If you have bags or parcels hanging about you while travelling, ensure that they do not swing and bump other passengers.
When sitting in a bus, train, taxi or plane, do not take up more than your fair share of room by sprawling over more than one place by posture or with other articles. Be courteous enough to ask other passengers in the bus before closing or opening the windows. It is also important that we speak quietly so as not to disturb others ensuring that the topic of the conversation is not controversial.
In order to give everyone a fair opportunity, we should endeavor to join queues without jumping queues. Nevertheless, seats or spaces should be offered to the sick, elderly or ladies with children. They should not be expected to stand.
Indeed, everything boils down to thinking about the good of others. With a little bit of practice, we can acquire a good sense of poise, balance and bearing. We can equally make life more pleasant for those with whom we live and work.
