Dealing with Depression
Ways you can deal with depression.
Depression comes in many ways. And all to often it can cause physical damage as well as mental. There are countless things that can bring on depression, and few affordable things you can do to get rid of it.
- Count the good things you have in your life. (Yes, you do have them)
- Find a skill you have and try to develop it. For example, I like to write.
- Stay close to family and or lover. A loving person always helps.
- Try to think of life if it were worse, and then reflect upon yours and you’ll feel better
- Find something in your physical looks and make yourself more secure. Feeling good about yourself is one of the best ways to get over depression.
- No mater what you think, drugs, and drinking won’t make the pain go away
- A good diet refreshes your mind as well as your body
- Find an activity that you enjoy and use it to keep yourself busy and to keep your mind off of the bad things
- Sleeping does help. But jogging or working-out works a lot more. A lot more.
- If you can do all of these things and you really do want to be truly happy, then by the tenth thing, you’ve already reached that point
Welcome to happiness my friend.

Depression, the invisible ‘disability’. No matter how often and/or how clearly you explain/attempt to educate people close to you, or the public at large, they just don’t get how crippling it can be.
It tends to be a lonely disease (clinical, major depression) as the sufferer does not want to impose themselves on others. They isolate themselves and of course that is exactly what should not happen. Often the only supportive people or people they can sincerely discuss it, are others with an invisible ‘disability’.
I can say that depression is extremely disabling, simple tasks like brushing your teeth, showering, putting one foot ahead of the other. Struggling is not as positive therapy as fighting the dragons. I’ve been to hell several times and I WILL NOT GO BACK. Its a fight but that fight in itself is medicine.
