Do It Now
by What is stopping you from doing everything you want to?
“If I win the lottery, I am going to give money to charity.”. “I would really like to see more of my own country.”. “When I die I am going to leave each of my grandchildren $20,000.”. Promises are made for the future, why don’t people act now? Give to charity now. Travel now. Give a small amount of that money to your grandkids now, so you can see them enjoy it. Assuming they are over 18, why not?
Life is too long and too short not to have and do the things that you want, so if you want to give money to charity, start now. If you want to travel, hop in your car and go. If you want to share your wealth with your family do so!
People talk about writing “The Great American novel”, or Canadian, or British. Learning to play an instrument, or building their dream home. Learning more. I suggest picking up a pen and paper, or even a laptop, start writing, go to a second hand music store and get going. Make your current home into your dream home. There are many evening classes a person can take if they wish to continue their education.
We often hold memories of fights and long to reconcile with an old friend or family member. Why not pick up the phone today?
There is no point living for the future if you are not going to live for today.

If you want to give money to charity, I am sure there are plenty of local ones you can donate to now. It does not have to be a large sum. I am not a fan of the types of charities that send out in the mail requests for donations and specify “Suggested” amounts. I also prefer smaller local charities because I know the money is going more towards the cause than administration, but you do what you want. Donate pennies. If everyone who said “If I win the lottery, I am going to give some money to charity” donated ten cents, I am sure the charities who are waiting for their lottery win would be better off right now.

A very daring message. Unfortunately for all those money moguls, hard earned cash couldn’t be easily left with a final plunge to the grave. Anyway, the chairman of the board will be glad to rise in position and possession whatever case maybe.

Giving to charities can also mean giving your time as in volunteering. If I had a shelter closer to home, I am sure I would be there all the time giving of myself. The nearest one is 1 hour away, I do try to give cash when I can. thanks.

Excellent philosophy. I wrote two manuscripts (I hesitate to call them novels) and learned to play guitar on this principle.

one thing my grand father had taught me when I was still a kid: “do not wait for tomorrow what you can do today”; putting emphasis on doing what is supposedly should be done than wasting time and leaving everything for tomorrow: for tomorrow is another new day…
