Do You Overwhelm Yourself

We all overwhelm ourselves, but when it causes, stress and anxiety attacks; changes need to be made.

A lot of people suffer from stress and anxiety because they over book themselves. For some it happens because of the inability to say no, while things just happen to overlap. What happens a lot is you will set up your calendar; to attend an event; whether social or family then a real event comes up; like a wedding, baby-shower. Whatever the event you now find yourself double booked and stressed.

Learning to say no is the first step, but is the hardest thing to do, but without learning this very important step, you will stress and eventually suffer from anxiety attacks. Stress is when you can’t take it anymore, whether it’s your spouse, or children even your parents.

An anxiety attack is a bit scarier, for some it may feel like a heart attack, they may hyperventilate and thus they get light headed. To avoid these things from happening, find out what is coursing these episodes that take their toll on you. Stress can cause weight gain, nail biting, scratching and anger to name a few; but ultimately stress can cause high blood pressure; which can lead to heart disease.

Most of us suffer from an overwhelming congested schedule. The kids have school, reports and project deadline. They also have the after school sports and activities.

You have to work, your spouse works, the house is a mess, and the invitations are coming one or two a week.

Well now you need to prioritize

What is necessary?

What is important?

What are the things that are on the “must get done list” and

Then try to allow a family or friendship gathering at least once a month. We all need to unwind and relax. Schedule a one Saturday a month for a major house cleaning, where EVERYONE participates, not excuses.

We all want to see and do everything, but if it is going to stress you and cause you anxiety; avoid getting into those situations. When you do get into those situations, go with the flow; if you are going to be late, call and let them know you are behind schedule.

Now my biggest problem is listening to myself, it seems to keep this all in check we must be vigilant and stick to this outline. Sometimes I forget and just start piling on the activities and it looks good; until a few day before the event, and then I stress, perhaps have an anxiety attack…oops back to square one.

It’s like anything that is good for us, when distracted, get back on course.
