Does Money Really Bring Happiness?

The more we have, the more we want.

Once we get something, we start wanting more of a different thing. I often hear most people say “give me the money, I’ll worry about happiness later”. The story probably goes like this for the average person: You get into school and already, you can’t wait to finish school. By the time you’re out of school, you can’t wait to get a great job. Then you get the job, start working and you can’t wait to save up enough to get married, raise your kids and pay your bills. On and on it goes…

It gets even scarier when you see people that appear to be more comfortable than you scrambling for more.

It’s just never enough. Less than half the world’s population will ever reach that “ideal level of comfort” that pulls them out of the rat race. Every day brings forth the same story. With every promotion, we aspire for more. I’m yet to find a way out of the rat race so if you have, I welcome your ideas. While you’re still in the rat race however, you may need these points:

1. Don’t miss out on the joys of life like the little things you learn on the job or at school: Your knowledge counts and may determine your overall success in life.

2. Don’t let money govern any major decision in your life; whatever decision you make today should not be determined by the amount of money you hope to make from it but by a genuine passion to go after what you want and accomplish your vision.

3. Remember that it is possible to have all the money in the world and not be happy. Contentment is key.

Have you ever noticed how it’s possible to manage the money you have no matter how little it is? Human beings are adaptable creatures. That’s what makes us so unique.
