Don’t Let Stress Affect Your Health

You always have the power to keep your health and well being in check.

Sometimes stress and emotional turmoil can throw you off your regular path of health and physical care for yourself. Do not let this happen to you! It does not have to affect you. You have the power to make wise choices even when you are under stress!

When you are under more stress and strife than is typical, it may feel like you can hardly think straight let alone think about what’s best to eat or when to fit your exercise routine into the picture. Maybe you are worried about making ends meet, or a huge presentation you need to complete, and other such high pressure worries. Do not add the pain and frustration of letting your health go to the wayside come into the mix. If anything during this time you need to learn how to take care of yourself even more so.

Maybe your healthier diet costs more money and your finances are part of the problem. There are creative ways you can come up with to stay within your meager budget and still keep your figure trim. Purchase full heads of lettuce rather than opting for expensive salad bars. Look for the coupons and special sale items in the markets.

I know when you are stressed food is a common thing to turn to for comfort and a way to keep your mind off your problems. But, if you do this too often you find that you have only added one more problem to your plate; the addition of weight gain and dissatisfaction with the way you look and potential health worries. Then you have to look for new clothes to accommodate your increasing size and this is a new headache in and of itself.

Every time you reach for more food than you would normally eat under other circumstances you need to set up ways to counteract this habit. In your mind say, “No, you are not hungry, you never ate like this before; you do not need to add to your problems!”

Eating more will cost you more money and more grief throughout your day as you feel disappointment for letting your physical appearance and health go. You deserve better! Take a stand for yourself. Tell your closest friends and family that you need their help and support right now. Turn to books that are positive and helpful. If you do not have the money, turn to free resources. The internet is filled with a plethora of self-help sites.
