Dream Big

It really is very difficult to get by in a job that you can’t stand. And believe me, I think that almost everyone in the general population has been there.

It’s either something that you don’t enjoy doing or there’s just that boss that you really hate. Whatever the case, it can really depress you. How many mornings have you woken up and just not wanted to go in? How many mornings did you actually DREAD going into work? It’s not an easy thing to will yourself to get up and endure the hardship of another day, but it’s life. We, as humans, cannot live without money and as more and more are born into the world, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find jobs.

What can you do? Endure it. That is the biggest thing, first and foremost. I know that it’s hard, but it helps to think that it is only temporary. It may seem like the only career you will ever have, but eventually you will get out of it. You’re never too old to dream, and you’re certainly never too old to live out those dreams. Whenever your boss chews you out or annoys you, just smile at them. It will confuse them because they may expect to get you upset and frustrated (and on the inside you are), but there’s no reason you ever need to show that on the outside. More than likely, your higher up is in that position because they’ve invested the time for years and have the seniority over you. Instead of getting depressed when my crew chief gets on my case, I just smile and think that it must be sad…to have made this poor of a job your life career. I think to myself, I will make it much further than she ever could have.

And that is why it’s always good to dream big. People don’t achieve their dreams because they stop dreaming. They don’t put the effort in to make them reality, they don’t make the steps it takes toward their fantasy life. And why? Monetary restraints? No time? It just seems impossible? Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. Life is what you make of it, and you can find a way. It may take months or even years, but you have to be patient and that’s the problem with a lot of people today. Everyone just lacks that sort of patience so just settle for the dead-end job that makes them miserable in the end. That’s what employers want. As a matter of fact, I think some design it so that they make it seem as though there’s no way out. They want you hungry because you’ll work harder for that little bit of food you get at the end, and they’ll be able to stretch you further for less money. Don’t fall victim to this. Always keep in the back of your mind that you have the potential to succeed. No matter who you are, a guy who never graduated high school to a guy who just graduated at the top of his class in college, everyone is born with a potential and its up to the individual to awaken it.
