Laugh
Like they say, laughter is the best medicine. No illness or worries can weigh you down when laughter is all you need to keep your spirits high and keep you moving ahead. Whenever you are feeling moody, try to force a laugh. Although it might be going against your true mood at that moment, you never know how your laughter, though a forced one, can lead to more silly laughter. And more often than not, you would laugh at how silly you were. You can choose to live a day by being happy or not. Whatever it is, the day would still pass eventually. So why not make it a happy one?
Reflect
It is always essential to reflect on the things you have done. Each night before you sleep, reflect on what you have done in the day. Have you accomplished something? Have you met the goals of the day? Or have you let the hours gone to waste? It is good to keep a personal diary. Reflect on your thoughts of the day. And write down your goals and future aspirations. When you have met them, reflect and track your own progression. Did you do your best? Is there any room for improvements?
Learn
Life has always been a journey of learning. You learnt since the day you were born, the day you opened your eyes to the world. You learnt about the colours in this world, the sounds of your surroundings, the place you grew up in, the people around you. There are so many things in life to learn. It is really more than what you learn in school. You need to observe and learn whenver you can. Life is short. And you only live once. Why not make full use of it by learning as much as you can? There is really a lot to learn everyday. Books, magazines, newspapers, television, internet. Pick up some hobbies or things you have strong interest in. Develop your own interest and passion in those field. Thinking of picking up the piano? Well, do it! Who knows you can tap into what you have learnt and make a living out of it!
Relax
Life really isn’t all about work. The hectic societal life has forced us to be concerned about work and money, about promotion, recognition, and acknowledgements. While we do slog hard for all these, we must not forget about one thing. It is to relax. Try to have at least 8 hours of sleep a day. Research has shown that having sufficient sleep makes the mind work better the following day, as it rejuvenates and refreshes. Leave the weekends aside for some family and relationship activities, some quality social time with friends, or to indulge in some personal hobbies. If possible, go for a holiday! You deserve a break, you know it.
Love
It is the most desired asset of all. It is a universal language. A life without love is a life not lived. It is true. We all want to feel appreciated by the people around us. We want our parents to be proud of us, family to be always around us for moral support, our partners or spouses to be there to share our happiness and sorrows. We all want to be loved unconditionally. We need to start from ourselves. Have you told somebody you love him or her? Have you been donating to charities and spreading love to others? Have you neglected someone because of busy work schedule? Have you forgotten to love? To love and to be loved, that is the greatest thing that one can ever learn.
