Forgiveness is a point in one’s life where one becomes most magnanimous yet vulnerable. It is something that not many would do easily.
Some time ago i had a fight with my mother. It was over something very trivial but had blown out of proportioned. We ended not talking to each other for some time. It was a tough time for me as my mother and i were always close. One day i decided i had enough and i made the first move by apologizing to her. My ego could not take it as it wasn’t my fault in the first place. But i made up my mind to apologize any way. Now, looking back, i was thankful i did it. Life is too short to waste over trivial matters. My mother passed away a year later. Imagined if i stick on with my stubbornness and did not take the first step. I would feel guilty until now.
Researchers say that forgiving others improves one’s overall well being. It reduces stress, as holding a grudge only increases blood-pressure. It also builds better relationship with others.
Try forgiving people for all the injustices that they may intentionally or unintentionally did onto you and you’ll be happier and a lot more calmer. Why carry the excess baggage emotionally? Enjoy life!
