Good Humor: Learning How to “belly Laugh’

Getting rid of the ideas, notions, and regimens that make us old, cranky and uncivil.

This lightheartedness in no way jeopardizes your privacy or causes you to throw yourself away. No. You will not be ‘wasting time.’   In fact, unless you deliberately set about to include more ‘raucous’ people into your inner circle, you will inevitably turn to stone. It’s high time for you to act like a clown; dance among the stars. Grill out. Invite the most unlikely and unsuspecting folks. Do those things that seem to you to be so absurd. Surprise yourself. Do something totally out of character. Be silly. Act ridiculous. Make the others around you wonder what you’re up to. In the meantime, something miraculous may happen: you may learn to truly have fun in your otherwise boring life.

That is so true. We all need to lighten up and enjoy what is good in our lives and not dwell on the depressing bits. Fortunately I do like a good belly laugh at times. A very uplifting and well written article

I try to have humor in my life, but it seems that the people around me have become that most humorless bunch of humanoids, POLITICIANS!

If you do not please “the powers that be”, there will be no life with humor because you will be out on the streets, homeless and pan-handling, unless you submit to the humor inflicted on the public by the people who have no sense of humor. (See network television and “commercial radio”)

I revel in the ridiculous, but not the inanity that comes from what passes (gas) for the writers of the (schlock) television sitcoms (which are not even real situations or even comedic). Penn Gillette once commented that he might give up magic for a run for Congress, for there is so much humor there, but they take themselves entirely too seriously.

Extend yourself, expand your horizon, seek new markets and new experiences and laugh at how absurd you appear to others and how absurd they appear to you. Humor is growth of the mind and the heart, seek it out and take it in!
