Group Talent
Collaboration allows people to go places that they would never go alone. It is a support structure that encourages and inspires.

There are a heck of a lot of talented people in this world. And, much of that talent is wasted. Fear, or insecurity or sometimes not having an opportunity to put the talent to use, makes our world a BIG one full of creative people, sitting at desks and dreaming of where they’d rather be.
A whole group of talented people is able to accomplish so much more than a single person working alone. There is a sense of “group purpose”. Inspiration is given and received. The SHARED creative process gives hope to the purpose or goal, and to each individual involved in the collaboration.
A Collaborative effort becomes spectacular when everyone is given complete freedom to do the best that they can. When that effort isn’t judged, but continually encouraged by others also taking chances with their creativity. Support of collaborative effort, without limits on the individual in terms of their creativity, is the goal.
The group supports the freedom of an individual to really explore stuff that they perhaps would not, without the support of the group. Nobody feels like their idea is too “out there”. And, because there’s this inherent support, people relax their limits and are able to see beyond them. That’s a big part of creativity. There is no wrong in true collaboration…only growth and learning.
Our world has become one that honors individual achievement first. We work our butts off to be successful as individuals. The beauty of a collaborative effort is that there is communication about what’s happening AS it’s happening. People get excited about their ideas because OTHER people are excited about them. THAT excitement leads to more ideas. It makes people feel like they are being rewarded in present time for their thinking. And when a collaborative effort succeeds, the success belongs to the whole group equally. Everyone owns the success!
Just wanting to put this out there. Planting a seed of sorts. Hoping…..

there’s a difference between to become BITTER or BETTER.
Notice the “I”, if you are self centered, you certainly would become bitter to others.thus we need to involve others to become better and successful in what we do.
that was great sharing gianne. a relevant one too.

Yes that’s right! Working as a team is the best strategy. Working with the team makes us more competitive.

I so believe in team work. The old adage says, “no man is an island.” Nice.

Well written and I totally agree with you, I always remember at a saying from a teamwork seminar ‘there’s no ‘i’ in team’.

Thanks guys!! I’m presently doing some collaboration and cannot BELIEVE how invigorating it is. I feel much more brave in my expression too. I hope that we begin to look at this more than we have. I really think it’s important!

I am currently in college and I can tell you that group and team work has become much more integral to the learning process in the schools. I really like it as there are much less lectures and more cooperation. Great article here.

This is beautiful. I love your way of thinking. There is great magic that can happen within a group. It seems that something special can take place when the dynamics of a group are supportive, encouraging, and appreciative. I’ve experienced this a few times.
