How to Increase Self Esteem
It’s important to have self esteem in order to be happy and confident. Knowing how to increase your self esteem can improve the emotional quality of your life.

Lack of self esteem can leave you feeling miserable and worthless. It can also leave you to rely heavily on others, and hold you back from achieving what you might have. Although there is no magic formula to give you instant confidence, there are certain behaviours you can adopt to help.
Self Belief
One way to build self esteem is to trust in your abilities and talent. To do so may mean stretching the level of belief you have in yourself at present, just enough to enable you to reach a little further with your abilities.
Each time you accomplish new goals, or come closer to achieving them, you will gather confidence and esteem along the way.
A good place to start is to discover what you are good at. If your self esteem is very low you may have prevented yourself from exploring areas where you could flourish. If so now is the time to try something new that holds your interest.
One tip that may help you discover and uncover hidden abilities is to opt for working towards that which you have enthusiasm for. Most people have both the staying power to develop their talents, and the ability to do so when they stick to doing what gives them pleasure and enthusiasm.
Socialize
It may feel like a difficult task to begin to put yourself among the crowd more, but it is only by seeing how others behave you can realise you are not really different after all, and it is only by socialising you can also begin to make more social contacts and friends.
Building relationships with others not only increases your support network but also provides people you trust to reflect back how they see you, rather than you relying on self judgment.
Listen
A wonderful why to overcome shyness, learn about others and get people to like you is to listen to them properly. Active listening is where you fully engage in hearing and comprehending another person’s communication.
The great thing about listening a lot is that it can mask a lack of self esteem while helping to build it at the same time. If you spend more time listening to others, and wisely nodding in the appropriate places, you will start to see you are not alone in how you feel.
Little steps.
Taking small steps towards the goal of reaching substantial self esteem will help you get where you want to be. By stretching your abilities ever so slightly, engaging more in social activities and communicating you will gain self confidence.
