Introduction to the World of Success
On success, the dos and don’ts, and the demands.
Lack of knowledge has made some think they have succeeded in their abject failure and some that were succeeding have quit because they were looking for what they don’t know. Success or Failure at times depends on the one judging the condition. What one take to be success, another may call it failure. The culture of people also influences what they consider to be success. Someone’s vision or ambition may also be a determining factor to what he and others may consider success or failure. But I am considering man through the light of the word of God in finding out what real success is or what should be taken as success. Let us consider the following:
1) Man and his origin
2) Man and his make-up
[1] MAN AND HIS ORIGIN
We often try to understand man in man’s history, which teaches us that many years ago man lived in cave. Biology teaches us about the human body and its functions. Psychology explores man’s behavior. Sociology explains man’s relation to his varied roles in society. These topics created by a spiritual being and he {man} is a spiritual being also. To understand only his physical make-up and his relation to his environment, his history and behavior can’t tell all about man. So man owes his origin to God his creator.
[11] MAN AND HIS MAKE-UP
Man is a spiritual being having a soul but living in the body. If man dies in the body [physically], it is not the end of his existence because he is a spiritual being. His spirit continues to exist somewhere. The Bible said it is either in Heaven or in Hell. Note that for man record success, he should also consider the enjoyment of his soul after his short life and the success of good accounts before his God knowing that he will soon face the inevitable judgment throne of God. The dictionary defines success in a nutshell, as succeeding in gaining what ever is aimed at. A boy, who aims at driving his father’s car without any knowledge of driving, will be considered to have succeeded when he enters the car and drives it, even if he hurts or kill himself in the process. What about the regret, the pain and the loss, in his successes? Consider this person who wants possessions by all means to achieve his or her aim, he unscrupulously dabbles into killing, gaining by tricks, using charms to cast spell on people and collect whatever they desire from them. Within few years, he or she becomes the richest. He has succeeded to achieve his aim but what of the guilty conscience? What of the bad reputation, being a man who is accountable to his creator? What of his account before God? The existence of man continues after his physical death. Any success that ends in the physical is not complete. Complete success should be seen in achievements, inward fulfillment and in good conscience before your creator. Not just gaining what you aimed at. Before a complete success is achieved, man should consider these three points in setting up his goal:
