Learn How to Live Longer and Better

Did you know that working in an office with a beautiful view can add years to your life, while a divorce can remove years from your life?

Scientists have concluded that the following can increase or decrease your life years!

Room with a beautiful view (+2 years)

Recent researches reveal that patients in hospital rooms that have nice view recover faster from a surgery. If the beautiful view proved beneficial for the patients, imagine how beneficial is for you! If you don’t have a nice view at home or the office, then decorate your room with photos of people and places that you like!

Living in clutter (-1 year)

Most people experience stress when living in an environment of chaos or clutter. The stress caused by this clutter leads to an increase of stress hormones, heart pulse and blood pressure.

Caring a pet (+2 years)

Those who have pets tend to visit the doctor less often and are less depressed than those who don’t have a pet. Also when you care about a pet your pulse of the heart and blood pressure are decreased!

Good Sex (+4 years)

We all know that good sex can makes us live longer! Men who have sex at least two times per week tend to have less chances to die prematurely from cardiovascular disease compared to those who doesn’t have sex. Other researches have shown that women who don’t enjoy their love life due to their partner’s premature ejaculation problems or impotence, are more likely to suffer from heart attacks.

Living with noise (-1 year)

Systematic and long-team exposure to noise is responsible for 3% of deaths from cardiovascular disease! Even if you don’t listen to the noise (we become immune to the noise after some time), it damages your body in various ways. If you live in an area with excessive noise, put thicker glass in your windows to prevent noise from outside!

Marriage (+7 years)

Married couples typically live longer than those who are divorced, widowed or single. It is believed that those who are married – and happy – are less likely to have financial or psychosomatic problems compared to the single ones. Married people also recover more quickly from a disease.

Divorce (-3 years)

Divorced people are more likely to suffer from diseases such as hypertension, cirrhosis of the liver and pneumonia. If you think about it, people tend to divorce because they have an unhappy marriage and high level of stress. Both reasons are bad for your health!

Happiness (+9 years)

Reseaches show that people that are optimistic and happy tend to care more for their health. Also, the optimistic attitude to life has been associated with faster recovery from injuries and diseases. It is believed that hapiness is related to the increase of body defence against deseases!

Insufficient sleep (-5 years)

Sleeping less than 6 hours per day can harm your body. It is believed that insufficient sleep can make you suffer from high cholesterol, hypertension and increased rates of stress hormones! Insufficient sleep also reduces the ability of concetration and alertness. It’s necessary to sleep 6-8 per day!

Faith (+7 years)

More than a thousand researches have shown that there is a collelation between religious faith and longevity! Indeed, researchers at the University of Iowa found that religious people are 35% more likely to live longer than those who never go to the Church!

i guess that`s why people who live in the country live longer, right?

    - they certainly have great view
    - they most likely have some animals under their caring (sheep, etc)
    - they may have some good sex [sheep count, right?:)]
    - they are usually married
    - they`re happy to be honest when their wives ask them whether they have cheated them with another ‘woman’(!)
    - so, they usually dont get divorced by their wives
    - they think that they`re religious, as beyond else, they ‘love’ nature(!)

    hey, i`m just kiding!!
    no offence, huh?! :)

    seriously, great article soto! ;)

But I like my clutter. Anyway, I heard on the marriage thing that it only adds 7 years on average for men, for women it actually takes a year off! A single woman lives longer than a married one, and a single woman with a cat lives even longer. The conclusion: don’t marry, get a cat. lol

I wonder, Emma, do add years for each cat you own. If so all the crazy cat ladies are set.
