Life is an Adventure
Make life an adventure and you will get the best of life.
We give to thee but thine own. This statement is the truest ever made and goes still to confirm all that is said that one cannot take credit for ones self. You only have to recognize your goal in life. The master recognized the above fact when he said: ‘I am the tree and you are the branches…..’ he confirmed your being part of the whole, a perfect whole, when he concluded by saying, ‘if the branch does not bear fruit, it will be cut off.’ in other words saying if you cannot be like the whole, of which you are a part, you will not share the goodness enjoyed by the universal mind.
He also told us that faith alone without work is not enough, and vice versa. By his life, he made it clear that whatever your job or profession, if not employed for the benefit of humanity, you have fail. It has been proven so often that whatever you give out you receive. It then follows, whatever you can offer to entire humanity the same you would receive back from entire humanity. What a huge harvest that would be either way! That is simply the adventure of life; waiting for the harvest season, choose what to sow and what to reap.
The questions that most men and women ask themselves at some time in their entire lives are: ‘what is the meaning of it all? Does life here make sense?’ we often have such high aspirations, an innate desire to be and to do so much greater than we are, or we do, and in the vast majority of cases there is a seeming impossibility of achievement. The quest of all mankind, whether it is admitted or not, is for a deeper knowledge of his real nature. This is evidenced in early childhood, and is a most rewarding adventure throughout life, for those who take the time and trouble to continue the adventure.
Every adventure demands persistence and continuity of effort. Why not put to use your many talents which up to now you may not have used, either from shyness, lack of vigor or enthusiasm, or procrastination, that thief of time which is always ‘going to do something.’ whatever you are, and wherever you are, you are a wonderful being with many talents, but you will never know what they are, until you begin to make life an adventure, and start to make use of these talents. Begin! To begin is be half done. Make all of life an adventure; step out with eagerness and expectancy of good. Whatever goal you have in view, expect to reach it, you will if you are willing to work at it for as long as it takes. Life offers so many opportunities, there are so many avenues that can be explored, you may not start on the best one for you at the beginning but if you remember that you are making an adventure in life you will not be unduly perturbed when you feel you are on the wrong track. Take whatever good you have gleaned from that experience, and make a fresh start. Even if it is the right path for you, it will not necessarily be always plain sailing. Storms and tempests will be interspersed with calms, but within you is the power to ride through them all. The biggest adventure you can undertake, and the most rewarding, is the adventure and discovery of the power that is within you. When you make the discovery that all that is needful for your government is within yourself, and that all good or ill that befalls you is from yourself, life takes on a new meaning begins to make sense.
