Life is an Adventure

So if you would adventure into life, first cultivate and develop your faculty for adventure. You have it. You certainly had it as a child; every child loves to explore new experiences. He gets educated out of that attitude by a concentration on the study of what has gone before. His attention is focused on the memorizing of what has already been written in books rather than adventuring into new fields. That may be good as far as it goes, but if you would adventure into life, the emphasis must be removed from the memorizing and dwelling upon past happenings.

Life itself is an integral part of the creative principle which is always creating, giving further expression of itself into form. You are alive, therefore, if you would know more about life, surely the easiest, and most direct way to acquire that knowledge is through the study of life in you. All through ages, the names of those best remembered are of those who have made the strongest impact on the largest numbers of mankind, and who have discovered for themselves, and taught this idea – ‘KNOW THY SELF’. Your life is what you make of it. The adventure into inner space is available to you, as to everyone. The adventure into the wonderful you that you can begin right now as you make your first move in that direction, the decision to do so. How? When? And where? Right where you are at this moment of time, by assuming the attitude of adventuring, and the determination to continue to explore your mental faculties. Are you being the best person you can be? You are the best judge of that. Other people are inclined to judge from what you present to them of yourself, they recognized at once if you are giving them the best of yourself, and respond in like manner. Think on these things. There is but one life, with its one vast unlimited potentiality. You are an expression of this one life, and have this vast unlimited potentiality right within you.

You may be well advised therefore to take a simple look at the adventure of life by just giving yourself back to it as you affirm always the following:

‘all knowing and powerful God,

renew my will from day to day;

blend it with thine and take away all now

that makes it hard to say. ’thy will be done’.’
