Living on Less
A proven idea and hint that can help you save money and live on less while being happy with your choices of what you will do without.
Humans love to be comfortable. We spend our whole lives making ourselves and those we love as comfortable as possible.
As long as our comfort zones at home, work and play are well supported then we are doing well. When a piece of this support falls away, it affects our comfort zone. From the smallest issue to the largest life change, our comfort is foremost; and behind most human behavior.
Many of us, I for one, get very uneasy when I feel my comfort zone threatened. I do not like to stand by and do nothing and let my comfort zone go without. Even during the hardest of times we can keep our life comfortable with just a few adjustments. Once these are adjustments are made we will feel at ease again.
Keeping this in mind, the best thing you can do when hard times hit and you have to cut back on living expenses is to look around and realize how much you have and appreciate having it.
Say to yourself; “wow, look at how comfortable I am, all this great stuff I have, that makes life comfy, aren’t I, a lucky lucky person.”
Even if it is not AS nice as you would like, or as pricey as you would of liked…even if you got your whole household from a yard sale or flea market, thank the heavens you have it and realize that you have so much in your comfort zone.
Then make yourself as comfortable as possible and look around.
Relax and and think of what you can do without while maintaining your comfort zone. You’ll be surprised at how many comfort items you really do not use enough to buy again and you will find a few things you can sell to make an extra buck.
Ask each of your family members to do this evaluation and to help you out by making a list of what they can live without. This will save on expenses.
Then don’t buy those items that really are not do any good to make you comfortable.
You will save money and be living on less.
You’ll feel good about your choices because you realized that those items aren’t useful anymore and because you don’t have to be hard on yourself for the sake of living on less.
