Living Your Life to The Fullest: Life Lessons Learned The Hard Way
Article about how I learned how to live my life to the fullest.
In the world today almost everything you do depends on how much money you make. Everyone seems to be judged on how fast they can make that next dollar. People are so busy with the hustle and bustle that they are distracted and miss out on all the simple and free things in life. Until something happens that makes them think, in that moment everything changes.
My moment came on the eve of September 21st, 2008. I was called to the emergency room where I learned that my sister had been the fatality in a car accident at the young age of twenty-two. That’s the second I knew I had to start living my life to the fullest and do things that I wanted to do before it was too late.
The problem is that you never know when it is going to be too late for you, so you have to live by that old phrase “live each day as if it were your last”. Sit down, re-evaluate your life, have you done all the crazy things that you wanted? Is the career path you’ve chosen the right one fr you? I know that my sister had many things that she wanted to do but never had the chance. Also, family and friends are key in total life fulfillment. If you have a good friends and family circle it doesn’t matter if you’re dirt poor or filthy rich, you’re life is going to be good and full no matter what.
All in all, what I’ve learned is that life is too short to not live your life how you want. And although I miss my sister everyday I am also very thankful for the final lesson that she taught me. Live your life to the fullest, don’t settle for anything that’s second best. After all, what are big sisters for?
