Make ‘Em Laugh, Make ‘Em Laugh!, Make ‘Em Laugh!
Like a song from “Singing in the Rain”, there is no nobler deed than to cause laughter. The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body, is called “gelotology.” It is part of human behavior and aids them in situations of emotional context in conversation and social interactions.
Life is a Laugh?

Often cited as being ‘contagious,’ if there is laughter in the immediate social surroundings, it proffers as positive feedback and acceptance. It even helps in situation comedy programs to have a ‘laugh track’ to invite the viewers to laugh on-queue, at certain humorous climaxes.
There is a recorded incident where laughter spread like, well, -an epidemic! This uncontrollably infectious spreading of laughter is known by its most famous instance; the “Tanganyika Laughter Epidemic.” A Bubonic Plague …of infectious laughter? Is that even possible? Is that even healthy?
I have read that people are concerned about violence breaking out in our schools and in our communities, citing ‘the violence that we see on television’ as being the cause. Oh I don’t know, -I still see enough ‘situation comedy’ shows on television and I don’t see comedy breaking out on the streets so that can’t be a correct hypothesis.
LOL Cats

Nary an original anymore, ‘lol cats’ has been around awhile. “lolcats” as we know it started around circa early June, 2006. I like the “Ceiling Cat” macros. “Ceiling Cat is Watching You …(insert word).” There is a corresponding “Basement Cat” series of macros and these together have been said to represent God and Satan in the lolcat universe.
Laughing Cow

“The Laughing Cow” is a brand of processed cheese products. It was founded in France under the name La vache qui rit in 1921. Sold in over 90 countries, according to internet sources, over 125 portions of the cheese are eaten every second around the world.

The reason sitcoms tend not to have laughter breaking out on the streets is due to the fact that people tend to re-enact what makes them UNCOMFORTABLE AND FEARFUL in order to control their FEAR LEVEL which has been induced by what they see and hear on TV and radio etc.
There is no need to re-enact the COMEDY and FUN that we see and hear because we’re COMFORTABLE with that, it’s non-threatening, it’s simple and we don’t really have to UNDERSTAND it. Whereas the scary stuff leaves us with the need to UNDERSTAND WHY – hence the acting out on the streets, in schools, at home etc.
