Nature’s Gifts
A Lecture.
The soul is strong and everlasting. It does not fade with the autumn foliage. It lingers amid the piercing winds and dark, broken trees of winter. It waits patiently for its season and purpose, its springtime and hour of full bloom. Like a star, it lives only to burn with the brightest beam possible, while its opportunity lasts. Or so it was meant be. The soul is a creation of nature. ‘Human nature’ is a creation of nature.
Then why do we change ourselves? Why do we deny ourselves? Is this intelligence? Does that put us above beasts? Animals are self-content; they search for nothing but food. Is your soul natural? Is your soul content? Nature is content. Nature denies herself not a single pleasure. She lives in complete serenity, and harmony is synonymous with her name. She trusts herself, and she knows the potency of her own potential.
Do you desire a human soul? Or would you continue to live with ropes strung about your heart?
Nature’s First Gift: Potential
“Can each see signs of the best by a look in the looking-glass?
is there nothing greater or more?
Does all sit there with you, with the mystic unseen soul?”
The stars were created to shine. The waters were meant to flow. Do they ever pause to question why? The badger does not decide to create a nest to house in the trees because that would benefit society.
Our gift, our one very natural talent, is what we are. We shall always be defined by it in the expanses of time. It is the only thing we should consider pursuing with our heart and soul, not only because it is our duty to nature, but more so because it is our duty to ourselves.
We should know better than to compromise anything. Mankind was meant to be a creator, on a smaller scale than nature herself[1]. Potential is one of the most sacred gifts, because each man’s is utterly unique. The creations that come to life out of you will never be if you do not create them. Each real creator on this earth knows what it is he values above his own dear life: his creations. He realizes nothing compares to them, and they should never be compromised. He also knows he can never truly create by conforming, because potential is a gift of the individual, and the individual alone.
