Positive Change
We must make a positive change now.
Within the human condition, there is one certainty – change. But Changes may weigh advantage and disadvantage issue in light of personal gain or loss, and for this reason not all people are easily adaptable to change. Some people are open to change as long as it doesn’t inconvenience them or cost anything. And there are also several individual who are so committed to the status quo or the past, which lead them to resist being change by others. Usually, People don’t change until they perceived that the advantage of changing outweigh the disadvantage of continue with the way things are. Sometimes, changes in people take place when they’re hurt enough or once they have understood the circumstances that there’s a need to improve.
But not all change is improvement, but without change there can be no improvement at all. In leadership aspect, a Leader can’t change their subordinates unless he himself is not open to his own change. The point is we should also make personal changes before asking others to change. Human behavior studies show that people do not basically resist change; they resist “being changed”. That’s true especially if a person seeks changes by means of argument and unhealthy confrontation. We must be aware that people’s mind is changed through observation and not by argument.
Most people usually point to someone other than themselves to explain their weakness, personal failures and character problem. It is unrightfully to blame your flaws, faults and mistakes on anything/anyone but yourself. They desire to change everyone around them to suit their character which is a mind-set of a foolish coward who will never improve.
If you want to change others, you must change yourself first. Look at the mirror and reflect yourself. When you have a problem with everyone, usually you are the problem. We are all faced with conflicting desires. No one, no matter how spiritual can avoid this battle. We struggle daily with situations that demands decisions between what we want to do and what we ought to do. We can’t please everyone to tag along with our behavior or personal decisions. We can’t always convince everybody to understand us and be flexible to our emotions. We can’t pressure others to adjust their thoughts in the vein of our thoughts. What we have to do is change ourselves first before influencing the world to change. But when and how we will change?
