Risking Everything for Your Dreams
Your dreams are priceless and so are you.
I am beyond thankful to the wonderful friends who continue to read my work and share my story and my journey. I feel beyond touched.
It’s interesting how life works. I have always been a huge believer of like energy attracting like energy. The sales job that I had tried out for about a week was something I wanted to try out, but after many different experiences on the job i.e. speaking with various other sales people and seeing the reality of the sales world, I have quickly become wiser about the sales world.
During my first week of work, I received two other sales job offers. After much contemplation about one of the positions and more questions, I realized that it was not as great as the manager had originally painted it out to be. I continue to thank God that when I truly ask for his help he steps in. It’s when I forget to ask that I believe I stumble and fall.
A lady from that particular job opportunity and I formed a great rapport and she came up to me and told me that the money they said a person could make was actually significantly less than the way they made it sound like at first. If I had decided to take the job, I would have had to have moved. When she warned me, I truly felt that God had just sent me an angel.
The other job opportunity came from a very energetic, professional and friendly looking gentleman. I spoke with him today and the opportunity is everything I wanted; it’s truly amazing. Not only does it offer higher commission possibilities than the current sales job I had taken, it has bonuses, and opportunity for managerial positions, growth, training opportunities and more. It is also in a field that best fits my interests and lifestyle. It is selling health & wellness products and promoting a healthier lifestyle overall. And, it’s perfect. I had been thinking of moving to the location that the President of the company said he just opened up a region in. If I don’t move to the location than I can still remain where I currently live as I am not certain if I want to move yet. I love where I live. I’ve lived here about 7 years and I feel that it is my home.
And, so I jumped again.
Typically I would give another job two weeks notice, but I spoke with several people who told me that since I’ve only worked at the job for 3 days, that is unnecessary. I really did not want to continue with the lifestyle that job would have created for me, not even for another day. Part of me felt as though I wasn’t being good to the company, leaving them with shifts they would need to feel, but then I looked at the other hand, that they had promised me certain things that they did not follow through with. I had to call both my bosses today. One call went better than the other. All I could say is that I am sorry, thank you for the opportunity, but that I just don’t think it’s the best fit.
I believe that if a company doesn’t treat you the way you know you deserve to be treated, why stay with them? This is another reason why I think I’ve been through all the hardships I’ve been through in my life. It has built my self-esteem and confidence up in myself to know that I deserve better and that I will not stay in any situation that does not feel right to me again. I know that there is so much beauty in this world and that truly when you keep yourself open to it, doors continue to open endlessly.
I’ll end again with one of my favorite quotes: “The only limits are those we place on ourselves.”
Go after your dreams. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. You can do anything you set your mind to. All your dreams will and are coming true. You must simply believe in yourself. Courage allows you to risk for things that you deserve. Utilize everything positive around you to keep your spirits high and full blast. You are your own best friend. You are lucky to get to be around yourself every second of the day. You have the power to make all the decisions in your life. Make it the life of your dreams!
My best wishes and blessings to all.
