Running Around a Pinetree: A Lesson

            Lessons are very valuable things. An important lesson I have learned is to never run around a pine tree over and over again. I did that once and fell in the tree and got a piece of wood stuck in my eyebrow. It was not a fun experience and I don’t recommend trying it. You have to go to the hospital, miss a lot of school and it hurts a lot.

          My dad rushed me to the hospital as soon as I fell in the tree. They did surgery on my eyebrow. They put stitches on and then realized that there was still a chunk of wood stuck in my eyebrow so they had to undo the stitches, re-open the cut, and dig it out. Then they had to re-stitch my eye back up. I was very lucky because if the stick were just a little lower I probably would have been blind.

          Second of all, I had to miss a lot of school. I missed a lot of activities when I was out of school. I was in Kindergarten when it happened and I wasn’t very happy about missing it. When I went back to school I had to wear some funny looking thing over my eyebrow which I really didn’t want to wear, but my mom made me because it was “ Doctor’s orders”.

          Finally I come to my last reason why I learned a lesson from this experience. When I fell in the pine tree it hurt a lot. I was bleeding from my eyebrow for a long time. The consequences of falling in the tree were not pleasant either. Every night my mom or dad had to squeeze my eyebrow really hard to get the pus out. It was not fun.

          I had to go to the hospital, miss a lot of school, and it hurt a lot. Those are three things to make the perfect bad day. You don’t want it to happen to you. I will never run around a pine tree again.
