Simple and Free

Some of the best things in life ARE free.

Used to be I wanted material things. Things that I believed would make me happy. I have come to the realization that happiness does not come from items, it comes from things I do and who I do them with. All my hard work of spending money on those items I wanted , did not purchase happiness.  They only mounted up into a huge space in the garage.

If I could take back all those items I would be a wealthy woman today. Instead I replaced those items with lasting memories. From the little things I do with my children, my grand children, my lover, my friends and my co-workers. I have learned to do everything so it can leave lasting impressions in my mind and my heart.

I use a simple method to accomplish happiness. I do everything with the other persons (peoples) point of view in mind. How would I feel if I was the one on the other end? I have tried to always keep this little bit of insight in every interaction I have. I find myself always trying to bring a smile to the faces of those I’m around. The old saying “Do onto others…” rings true. I have learned to  control my actions with others in mind. If I was the one I was talking to, I would want to be treated with kindness. So, therefore, I do apply that to every interaction I have with people.

It only takes a few seconds to go the extra mile to get someone to smile. It is so much less stressful than creating turmoil. It is more fulfilling to achieve a smile or warm feeling than it is too make someone feel miserable or defensive. Try it. It will brighten your heart. It will give you a warm sensation inside.

Life is what you make it, so, make it smile and make lasting memories along the way. Therefore, enriching your life with the free things that create happiness in your own life.
