Soaring on the Wings of Adversity

About the virtues in that thing called adversity.

Adversity is the ill wind that blows anybody any good is what you’ll likely hear on the tongues of so many but the truth is that in times like these is when we all should rise up to that challenge issued by life. In the Depression of 1929 an out of work engineer called Charles Darrow under the pressure of the harsh conditions invented a game which is played in millions of homes around the world, the game MONOPOLY which he sold for a million dollars. Imagine making a million dollars when others could not even make a dollar. David Brinkley was so right when he said, ‘A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him’.

Another wise man said, When it is darkest, men see stars. In the most trying period of my life with no money in my pocket I wrote a book that enlisted me as one of the fifty best authors in the eighty year history of Dorrance Publishing House. With a right attitude every disappointment becomes a blessing in disguise. It is the same violent wind that makes other birds run for cover is the same one that makes the eagle, monarch of the sky soar. Like the eagle you can soar above every adversity with right thinking towards the adverse situation. A wise man said that ‘Sinking beneath a problem and soaring is simply a matter of attitude’. In that thing you call a challenge realise in it is what’ll make you a champion. Rather than complaining about a rose having thorns be thankful that thorns have roses. In my definition adversity is the process of ‘accepting a bitter thing for a better thing. So SOAR, EAGLE SOAR. Soar on the winds of adversity. Shalom
