Teaching Positions
This article is written for potential immigrants who are qualified teachers. Writer, is a qualifed teacher who did all his own paperwork for immigration to Australia, Canada, and the USA.
The second issue you will have to deal is your health. If you are the principal applicant and you have dependents whose health is not ideal, your application is not likely to approve unless it is something which is treatable and even then you will be required to get the condition treated before you can migrate to start your new job. Do not forget medicals and repeat medicals take a lot of time. The immigration departments, as a rule, are very busy places. They too take up to a month to respond to each medical.
Some countries require you to have a certain amount University Education. Please check this out. If you do not meet the requirements, then you are wasting time. Some countries require that all the higher education be in English or that you have passed TOEFL or an equivalent English Examination. Since, you are going to be teaching in English, it is important that you pass this before you even apply. If you apply first, and then find that you cannot meet the counties immigration requirements, then you are likely to lose your application fee. This could be a as hefty as $350.00 to $500.00
Application forms can usually be obtained from the diplomatic mission of that country, where you intend to work. If the country in which you live does not recognize the country where you intend to work, think very carefully, you may not be allowed to re-enter your country. This does not only happen in third world counties. If you are an American Muslim (American Citizen) then you need to be more careful than usual. An American Citizen was not allowed to return to the USA recently. Not all people looking for teaching jobs have unlimited funds. So it may be easier to check out your rights before as opposed to hiring an attorney at $300.00 per hour.
Hiring an Immigration consultant is something you may want to consider. However, if you have a little time the immigration forms are not difficult to complete. I have lived worked and migrated between four countries. I have always completed my own paperwork. In addition to saving money there is always the feeling that there are no errors except the ones you made and you know that all the papers have been mailed and that nothing is sitting on someone’s desk.
You may need to get your professional qualifications assessed by the professional organization of the country where you want to teach. This is again, one of those things which are best handled by yourself or your immigration consultant, if you have one.
Some attorneys help with immigration, as usual, at a fee. Most attorneys will accept fee over a period of time which must be before the final papers are to be issued to your self.
I know, all these procedures take time. It is important not to take any steps which will cost you money and are irreversible. Do not resign from your current position until your job offer, immigration and associated procedures have been finalized.
The same immigration rules apply to Nurses, Doctors and other professions. The Immigration Departments will help you with brief inquiries but do not have sufficient staff to help you fill in all the application forms.
Good luck and best wishes.

Travel, enjoy, and share positive experiences. Make the world a better place for all to live in.
If there is something specific I can help with please comment here and I will try and answer that. I have travelled extensively and have never paid any attorney any fee.
The information packages you will receive from the Diplomatic mission will give you all the information. It is usually more accurate than what the immigration consultant tell you.
Good Luck.

Australia, New Zealand, USA, Great Britain and Canada are very nice countries to live in and to work. Immigration is not difficult if you have a professional qualification, are healthy and do not have a criminal conviction.
I have lived and worked in all these countries.
India – a lot of freedom to smoke marijuana, (grows wild) and one can smoke it for free. Be prepared to see a lot of poor people and children doing labouring jobs. Lots of freedom. Medical treatments: Private but cheap. Almost all medications one tenth or less than USA costs.
Malaysia & Singapore: Almost like police states. Do not make the mistake of doing anything illegal. Even cycling without a head light and a red tail linght is punishable with an immediate fine. Cycling side by side also used to be an offence (I have not been there for more than ten years, so my information is not current)
Good Luck.
