The Key to Success

Perseverance is the most important factor.

Going after your dreams, can feel like a terrifying endeavor. Putting your heart and soul out into the world to be accepted, rejected, criticized, etc can feel like something that you might not be strong enough to endure. Anyone who has ever made a significant impact in life has gone through these feelings of fear and self-doubt. They are natural, completely understandable feelings.

But, if you want your dreams to come true, you must not let these fears or anything else hold you down. You must find ways to work through anything that stands in your way. You will face rejection, you will face challenges. But the more that I have read about the difference between successful people versus unsuccessful people is one thing: perseverance.

Successful people continue to work, to do all the things that nobody wants to do, but they still do those things because they know they have to be completed in order to get what they want. They forego the immediate gratification for the brighter light and rewards at the end of the tunnel. They do not give up on their dreams, they continue forth when others who may have more talent have long fallen away. They continue forth and build the life and picture of their dreams.

Any successful person knows anything of value and substance takes time to create. If you are building a home, you must find the proper people to build your home. You must first start with the plans; then you must find the perfect plot. Then it takes time to build the foundation, each room, decorating, etc. Each detail takes a specific amount of time and focus. It is an endeavor that takes much thought and consideration if one wants to really love and be satisfied with the final product.

Abraham Lincoln is a great example of a man who continued to persevere despite all his efforts being rejected. He ran for office after office and was only elected once – when he ran for President of the United States.

Many great artists were also unappreciated and invalidated until after they had passed away. This, of course does not necessarily have to be the case for you, but it gives you the idea that one’s talents and greatness is not necessarily equitable to immediate public recognition.

So take your time, do whatever you need to do, but continue to take the steps forward. Keep believing in yourself. J.K. Rowlings, author of Harry Potter. She was on welfare with two children, but continued to write even when her friends kept telling her to get a real job. She would not listen to them. A billion dollars later…

Do not ever give up on your dreams.

Preseverance is indeed very important thing we should, if we are to success. However we should be able to tell it from being stubborn. Not really easy since neither listening to what people say nor not listening seems to be the key.

There are people who succeed because they listen to advice, there are people who succeed because they don’t. It is somehow confusing, but it is up to us to do the research ourselves.
