The Mentor’s Spirit
For any and all who are actively pursuing their dreams and continual self-development.
I am currently reading a new book titled “The Mentor’s Spirit” by Marsha Sinetar. It is a wonderful book that illuminates what the essence of a true mentor’s spirit is. While some people may be leaders and others may be managers, the truly great people amongst us aspire and radiate the “mentor’s spirit”. By this Sinetar means that these people truly manifest and give back to others through the single act of being true to who they are; true to their unique self.
Sinetar goes on to suggest that one of the greatest elements of a “mentor’s spirit” is loyalty. She talks about how the mere act of living a truthful, good life lifts others up and inspires them to do them same. To live their life being everything they know they can possibly be and so much more.
Many of her words ring true and reverberate in my mind with logic, with beauty and with life changing sustainability. One such quote: “You show me your mentors, I’ll show you who you are.” This quote has a familiar ring to it, but it is definitely simple, yet profound statements such as these that touch the heart because of their sound universal truths.
Another such invaluable quote found within her book: “The love behind authentic, effortless giving frees up our life, lets us unfold to be more of ourselves. This is simply productive: The more genuine we are, the more good we have to give.”
She talks about how the “mentor’s spirit” can be found not only in person-to-person relationships, but in everything we come in contact with: nature, the arts, etc. Anything that opens our hearts to a truer, freer state of being envelops the “mentor’s spirit” and can and will lift us to higher plateaus in our lives.
Her words are inspirational, touching and profound. I hope, if you choose to read this book you will find it equally rewarding and beautiful.
Best wishes and blessings to all.

I really embrace the idea of mentoring, at times I also would do well with one. Thanks for this great article!
