The Power of Believing
About how important believing in something can be.
One of my favorite songs has the phrase: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT. Note that you may get what you wish for. Today I would like to change that phrase to be: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BELIEVE FOR YOU WILL GET IT. It is as sure as the sun rises in the east that you WILL get what you believe. There is no probability. It is 100%. Why is that so?
I’m not writing this to promote any religion. But all religions are based on strong beliefs. The Bible says that ask and it shall be given to you. Knock and the door shall be open to you. This clearly needs you to believe you will get whatever you are asking for and surely you will. If you ask for good health and believe you will have it then surely you will.
Let’s define the word ‘believing’ then maybe all this will make sense. This is my definition of believing. To believe in something is to think deeply about it, make a judgment about it and trust that it will have good results for you. Belief can be geared towards people, institutions, oneself, supreme beings and even actions. Only intense belief can get you what you want. This is deep and continued thinking about what you want. It is not the kind of belief you have today and doubt tomorrow. It has to be something you constantly think about and trust you will get.
The following examples may illustrate what I mean by intense belief. A student who hopes to pass an exam but keeps on thinking he will not make it will actually fail his exam. Why is that so? This is because he believed he will fail. By continuously telling himself he will not make it, he believed that he will fail and that is what he got. Another example is when people suddenly tell you that you look sick. If you start believing you are sick, your body will feel weak and your eyes will change colour.you will lose your happy face and your skin will even look ashy.in time you will actually be sick.
The kind of believing I’m talking about involves your subconscious mind. If you keep on telling yourself positive things like you will pass your interview, it will be implanted in your subconscious and you will surely pass. How does it work? Give it a try. Let’s say it’s the interview you want to pass. Tell yourself of five minutes when you wake up and before you sleep ‘I WILL PASS THIS INTERVIEW’. If you carry this on for close to a month. You will have INTENSELY BELIEVED it and that is all you need. You will go for the interview feeling very confident because you have believed you will pass. The outcome will be that you will relax and even when you don’t answer correctly you will smile right up to the end simply because you have BELIEVED.
I want to challenge you. There has to be something you really want to get or achieve. From this moment why don’t you start training your mind to believe you will get it? Start by believing what I’m saying: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BELIEVE FOR YOU WILL GET IT.
