The Power of Knowledge
Donald Trump has what he has because he knows something we don’t know.
Proverbs 19:2
Eagerness without knowledge is no good;
haste makes mistakes.
A basic definition for knowledge is, know how, and there are different ways to gain knowledge; through books, experience, hard times and from others. If you’re hanging around people who talk foolish all the time you will gain no knowledge from that relationship. Proverbs 15:2 says, “The mouth of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool flows foolishness.”
A friend and I was talking one Sunday evening, as he stared into space, in deep thought he said something that was profound. He stated, “Darron, the reason Donald Trump has what he has is, because he knows something we don’t know.” Over and over again the bible tells us to get knowledge and understanding. I believe when we accept Christ into our life we receive everything we will ever need. I also believe we need to know how to obtain and activate the things we need that’s already inside us. Sometimes we want God to open heaven and pour down everything we need. When God has already given us the ability to get the things we need.
My wife and I were walking one Saturday morning, as we were talking I stated, “Honey I feel as if we have victory in our Spiritual life and our relationship but financially there’s a struggle.” As I pondered on this a voice spoke within me and said, “This is the only area you have not gained knowledge in.” It was true; spiritually I studied and prayed for wisdom concerning the Word of God, as well as attended bible classes. Concerning our relationship my wife and I have read books, as well as listen to others who have good relationships. Some might say, “If I win the lottery or a rich relative leave me a huge amount of money, I didn’t gain that by knowledge. That is true, but if you don’t have the knowledge to manage and maintain that money you will lose it or the responsibility of it will consume you. Some have obtained financial wealth, but other areas of their lives are a mess, because they have not taken responsibility of that wealth.
It’s more than just gaining knowledge, but it’s also applying and practicing what you have learned. If there’s a struggle in your life ask yourself, how much do I know about these things that I’m struggling with? Even in time of war a nation will educate themselves about the enemy.
Once you gain knowledge, no one can take it away from you, knowledge is like adding arrows in arsenal and the more the better. Knowledge does not always come easy and most of the time it comes with a price. There are some cautions that one must take in gaining knowledge, because it has a tendency to bring arrogance, so you must continue to humble yourself.
