The Return of the Hero
An expose on the Hero concept and how it fits in our personal quest to happiness.
A new trend has taken over our media lately: To portray an “uncelebrity” and make him or her the very special hero of the day. It seems as if our society became thirsty of heroism and is looking for a new idea of a savior to make us dream again about the possibility of being unique.
Well, let me tell you, My Friend, you are unique and you actually cannot not be unique since this is the very nature of your experience in this lifetime.
The insatiable quest for perfection and uniqueness has taken most of us on the road to unfulfilled happiness and constant un-satisfaction.
The human being with his/her limited consciousness has forgotten the divine that lies within and has desperately been looking for this distinctive mark that could take him/her away from the common mass. The catch 22 is that as long as one is looking outside, one will always be away from the Truth and therefore, the very treasure one is avidly seeking.
We, as a society, worship the uncommon behavior of a common individual and proclaim him a hero. This fantasy character is supposed to be this altruistic superman or this rare superhuman with special gifts. Well, the news is that a hero does not do, he is. A hero does not need to proclaim his gift, he lives it and finally, a hero does not look for reward for he knows he is already a winner.
There are 6 billion heroes on this planet and each of them should be ready to state his or her heroic way of living.
By trying to find the hero outside, we are only manifesting the need to explore our inner world and uncover this extra-ordinary, unusual and exceptional gift that makes everyone of us our own idol. How do you save yourself on a daily basis, how do you empower yourself on a daily basis and how do you alter your life on a daily basis are the questions you should ask yourself on this daily basis!
This, My Friend, is the path to remembrance of your uniqueness and the road to self-empowerment.
The “Uncover the Hero Within” Challenge is opened to anyone from 10 and above. In this contest you will portray your inner-hero by describing a life situation in which you have empowered your life and have recognized your own uniqueness.
Ex: I am a 27 years old woman and I realized that I have been getting up everyday for the past year to walk at the park. I have lost 10 pounds and feel greater than ever! I feel energized, worthy again and more so happy. I thank myself for having taking the step toward a healthier lifestyle. I am my fitness hero!
