The Unorthodox Approach to Life, Part I

In these works I wish to help others develop their world view and cultivate themselves. My only hope and aspiration for these writings is that people benefit from them and help make the world a more inhabitable place to live in.

In the works of mine to follow this, I wish to inform the readers of my thoughts and views of the world. My hope is that if you find something useful or interesting, that satisfies me very much. If you find something in my thoughts that offends you, I’d ask that you do some analysis on why it offends you, and if you still dislike the things I said, then ignore that portion, but don’t allow that detail to inhibit you from taking delight in other portions of my writings.

You may ask why I call my writings the Unorthodox Approach to Life. I say this only because many people don’t see the world the way I do. My view of the world is unorthodox because the orthodox way of seeing things is often a misconception of reality due to attachment or other reasons. This is not to say my views are perfect. They are not, nor are any human perceptions perfect. Many people miss or ignore the obvious things in life, and this causes them suffering in their lives. The purpose of my words is to make people see the obvious and guide them towards a more enlightened state.

My first subject of this series will be on getting perception on our place in the known universe. I shall explain in a top-down fashion starting with a quick history of the earth and the evolution of life until our present day.

We have observed and inferred that our planet was made with the left over debris from the formation of our sun. These particles slowly collapsed into sphere due to gravity and after some time the earth formed and some time passed. Some say as little as one billion years after the formation of the earth did life originate. We have not yet discovered the absolute means of how the first life was formed, but that does not mean that we will never know.

The first life on the planet was bacteria, which after yet another billion years passed, then found the evolutionary advantage of banding together many other bacteria and making specialized parts to aid the whole community of bacteria. After this occurred, slowly and gradually we come to see the rise of multi-cellular life forms. We see the plants, fungi and animals around us as proof of such things.

Intelligence was something that came about only in animals. In our phylum of animals we have birds, reptiles, mammals, etc. The most highly advanced intelligent life forms on the planet that are also self-aware are some primates, supposedly dolphins, and us humans. In terms of human intelligence, the second smartest animals, chimps, are only capable of 5-year-old level thinking. So as you can see, we are vastly superior in this realm. This also gives us more destructive potential than the earth has ever seen.
