The Voice of Gaia
Now is the time to wake up, to look around at what we are doing to ourselves before it is too late. We must come together, unite as the one source we truly are.

The natural world is held in a perfect balance on this planet. Very few people are truly aware that Gaia is a living breathing entity in her own right. The earth’s indigenous populations have always known this fact and it is to their credit that they have always remained steadfast in their attempt to keep and hold this balance, always in the face of adversity. When modern man stepped out of the dark wood and on to the path of so called civilisation, he put away the so called childish things of his primitive ancestry. Among these being the love and deep respect of all living things, be they man, beast, or plant.
The giant leaps made down the ages, in the progress of both science and technology, have made the kingdoms of mankind a far more comfortable place to live. But in so doing thought of worldwide harmony was left packed away on a shelf marked anthropology. The world’s aboriginal communities that stretch across the globe are calling in one voice. It is for modern humanity to but listen, instead of cocking the ubiquitous deaf ear and begin to pay attention to what is being said, before it is too late.
Laying waste to rainforests, decimating rivers, seas and oceans. Wiping from the face of the earth creatures that without man’s help or hindrance have existed for countless millennia is a crime on a universal scale. We are all a part of each other. No not just the peoples of this world, but every living thing, from mountains to streams, from lions to seahorses. Every thing has a place, a rhyme and a reason for its existence.

As the so called highest evolved specie on this planet it is our responsibility to make a stand for all our brothers and sisters, regardless of species, for each have their own right to be here and to co-exist alongside each other. We are all composed of energy, the very same energy, we are all one. When we hurt another we are only hurting ourselves, whether this is polluting a river or hurling insults at another with a different belief system to our own.
We can each play our part; together we can change the world, from recycling and conservation, to educating our children to a better way of living. After all they are the ones inheriting the mess we have made of everything. We need to teach love and compassion, an interest and respect in diversity, different cultures, sexual orientations and religions, not fear and hatred. Only then will we have a chance of peace, united we stand, divided we fall.

Well, I do not know much about the Gaia hypothesis but I do agree that all of us play a part in what becomes of this planet. And we should try to improve it. A very important message. Essential for our times and all time to come.

this was so beautifully written and i’m with you 100% of the way. everything is balanced and what’s unfortunately happening these days is that power-hungry people are destroying our environment and upsetting that delicate balance which has taken millions of years of eveolution. i also gained knowledge from this article about the gaia hypothesis, thanks to you. SUPERB!

we must reclaim the Earth…as a source of life, as a nurturing womb for all of us.

So true. We’re almost at critical mass as a civilization in almost every way. We’re either going to stand together, or fall together. Let’s hope it’s not too late.
