Things We Don’t Need

This is about things that people collect that really are not needed or have no use for. What people can do with the things that they don’t need.

In our life time we either collect or buy things we really don’t need. I like to garage sale and it never fails I end up buying something that has no use at all. I went to a garage sale once and purchased a box of lids that I thought at the time I could use but come to find out I had no use for them. I know have a draw full of useless lids. I have a friend that works for a moving company and he has lots of things given to him. He was given a set of bunk beds that have no mattresses. Most people could use bunk beds but his children are all moved out of the house so I really see no reason why he keeps them especially since they have no mattresses and I believe he doesn’t know either.

Jewelry is another thing that I have and will have no use for them. I have earrings of blue, diamonds, reds, or hoops but I only have one of each one. That makes no sense why I keep them since I will never use them. I have seen garages that are crowed or stacked to the top of the roof. In those garages you can get a glimpse of a sleeping bag or a child’s toy sticking out the pile. I wonder what people keep in there or if they even know what is at the bottom of the pile. I believe that all people in the world either buy or have things that they will never use. In our garage on the walls on the west side, we have about 50 fan belts for cars. The sizes vary from big and round to small and black.

When we move from Iowa, we had our truck loaded and our trailer was stacked up high. The load was heavy and we had the load covered with a big, black, rubber tarp that weighs a ton. Half way through Nebraska, the truck started to smoke and was overheating. The load was heavy but that wasn’t the reason it was overheating. The fan belt had broke and we needed one before going on. Guess what was in our garage but of course we didn’t have any of the fan belts with us. So we had to buy one in the next town. My husband would never get rid of those fan belts but in my opinion if we have to buy one then we have no use for them. I believe that people should always go through the stuff they own and if it has not been used within the last six months than it should be tossed out.
