Lately, we hear a lot of dreadful news about the health effects of meat consumption. Even some studies say, the consumption of red meat has contributed to an increased risk of breast cancer, colon, and kidney.
Hearing these findings, no wonder if many people are turning to vegetarianism. Many people consider a diet high in vegetables and fruits sufficient to meet the daily nutritional needs. They think to consume vegetal protein (plant) is considered more secure than animal protein.
If you think so, it’s not entirely true. After all, meat consumption is still needed to run body’s vital metabolic functions, in addition to also provide a lot of energy.
The following are three (3) the benefits of meat consumption for health support:
1. Meat contains a large number of proteins that are essential for the body. Protein can help improve overall health in addition to other benefits such as improvement and development of body tissues, as well as producing antibodies that will protect the body from infection, thereby strengthening the immune system. In essence, because meat contains all essential amino acids, they stay in the top as one of the best sources of protein.
2. Beside rich in nutrients, meat is the best source of iron, zinc and selenium. Iron in hemoglobin has an important function in helping to carry oxygen to various body parts. As for zinc, helps in tissue formation and metabolism. While selenium break down fat and chemicals in the body.
3. Vitamins are essential nutrients that can be met through food intake. Vitamin A, B and D could actually be found in meat. The benefits of vitamins are not only promoting eye health, strong teeth and bones but also supported the work of the central nervous system that promotes mental health as well. Not only that, the consumption of meat can also make your skin more healthy.

Cows and horses don’t seem to suffer much from being vegetarians. Nor do NFL football players and NBA basketball players. One need only read the studies comparing the health of vegetarians with meat eaters, whether it compares a few of each or whole nations. Stand on a street corner and ask every overweight person going by if he/she is a vegetarian.
