Vacillating Vegan? Cautious about changing your customs? Lazy about loosing the Lactose? Missing the motivation?

If so, this article is all for YOU.

It shall henceforth be said that foot-dragging and hesitancy does not a vegan make; and if your answer to the questions above were, for one or more, big fat ‘yes,’ the likelihood is that you, my friend, are tentatively treading your way towards the lifestyle switch you’re looking for. And when I say lifestyle, I mean that almost everything you do will be affected by your new label: being a vegan is not just a diet, it’s a way of life.

Unfortunately, in order to leap into the vegan lifestyle, the barrier of hesitancy must be bounded through at speed. In the case of making such a drastic change in your cycles, the best slogan to borrow would be Nike’s ’Just do it.’  If it’s going to happen, the conversion might as well happen sooner rather than later; this is what you need to tell yourself.

But maybe you have told yourself this, and maybe it hasn’t been enough. You just want that one last piece of chocolate. Which turns into those two last pieces of chocolate, and then you might as well finish the bar. You decide to stop after that. But then you are offered more at school, or at work, and you just cannot resist the candy siren-call, then you tell yourself that you’ll start again tomorrow. But tomorrow, as the age-old saying goes, never comes.

There are several difficulties, it has to be said, in becoming a vegan. Whether you have been a vegetarian, or an all-round omnivore for the last however many years of your life, there are still massive boundaries that you must overcome in order to ultimately reach your goal of being a complete and utter veggie-head. This article is here to help you do that. By the end of this editorial, I aim to have helped you on your way to a vegan lifestyle, by drawing on my own experiences of becoming vegan.

The first stepping stone on the street to success is probably the easiest, and the most important. You need to gather your thoughts, and collect together every single tiny little reason you have for joining the thousands of other men and women that partake of this extreme lifestyle. The important thing to remember is that everybody has different reasons for becoming a vegan, ranging from a love of animals, to weight loss, and sometimes even to look more interesting! Whatever your reasons, make sure to know exactly what they are, because these will be your motivation.
