What is Our Purpose in Life?
Our purpose is unknowing, but if we live our life to its fullest, in the end we just might get an idea of the “why” we are here.
Very interesting question, and had me thinking a lot about this over the last five or six years, since there have been so many deaths surrounding me, from friends, love ones, including pets and neighbors.
As I thought of some of the people, I realized they made me laugh, and we had many fond memories, while others I did not know at all; but through their death I became closer to their surviving family members. I recalled the parties we use to have and the jokes we use to plan on one another, not as kids but as adults, like the year of 9/11, when none of us wanted to bring our children trick or treating.
Traditionally children trick or treating on Halloween, Oct 31st.

It was the funniest thing and thank goodness in my own house, we decided to through a Halloween party, and we make cup cakes, candied apples, and a very large meatball, just to have some fun.
It was when us adults decide to dunk for apples, I did not want to use the bathtub, for sanitary reasons, so we got the biggest pot we had, and we did just that. When we were finished each adult was soak and wet, there was water all over my kitchen floor, and our kinds thought we were nuts. These are the things that make life worth living, the purpose to help bring love and laughter to those surrounding us; it an awesome feeling, at least for me.
My pets brought me joy and love, along with aggravation, but now that they are gone I miss them very much. In their death, I have found joy in pet sitting, a dog comes and stays with our family; which is very important to the dog, since dog enjoy family, they are “pack” animals and need to belong. Having a dog visit for a few days or a week brings our family joy. It great I walk them, run with them, play with them, and best of all I spoil them, just a little. Then they go home and I move on. Each dog brings me different memories, and I have a lot of them.
Laughter, life’s best medicine.

So with so much death surrounding me, I wonder what I am to others; what is my purpose. I wonder if I make other happy, do annoy other, do people really know what is in my heart, I really don’t know, and I really don’t think I care anymore. The people, who are important to me, are here when I need them. I hope that they know that I am there when they need a little pick me up, a drinking buddy or a shoulder to cry on.
Presently I wear the hats of many jobs, and I love to help those in need. I look forward to attending church with my family and my neighbor, meeting new people and making friends; so if my purpose it to make other happy, then I guess I just may live forever. In case I don’t though I hope I leave to other so many happy memories.

It’s not an easy answer to find. Or anyone can doubt that there remains an answer or not. I enjoyed your article.

Relationships are what makes life worthwhile. I love that you included pets in your article. Pets bring so much unconditional love to us. I have four cats that I love dearly and that are a huge part of my life.
