Why is It Called Rip-off Britain?

Having visited the USA on numerous occasions I feel more depressed than ever when I return to Britain with its terrible weather and high prices. We live in a country that is backward and people suffer as a result of the silly policies operated by the government who put the rights of criminals before those of the victims. A country that bends over backwards to help immigrants (who often do not have to be here), and treat those born here with disdain.

Britain is dull

The weather in the UK has always left a great deal to be desired and the pattern seems to indicate there will be no improvement in years to come. We get rain in the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, with very little sunshine to lift the spirits. It is understandable why so many people want to leave the country for a new life in the likes of Australia or America but cannot do so because they don’t qualify.

Britain is too expensive

The cost of living in Britain is atrocious with exceptionally high prices on food and petrol when compared to other countries. The cost of living in the USA for example is much lower and you definitely get more for your dollar than you will ever get for your pound. Everywhere you turn in Britain, they are taking money from you to keep pen-pushers in job as can be seen from the gross overstaffing in local government offices up and down the country.

Britain discourages enterprise

For the man or woman in the street who wishes to improve their lives by showing some enterprise and starting a new business, they have their hands tied almost immediately by red tape and regulations that preclude getting started. The cost involved is too often prohibitive and effectively discourages people from their goals to start their own new business.

I would gladly move to the USA if only that were possible. Britain is not a good place to live and it is getting worse by the day. End of rant!
