Why Not Try Something Different?
Persuading people to go out there and try something different to spice up their lives.
Today, it seems that it is fashionable for teenagers to take a gap year between college and university, many think that it’s a good idea as they have no responsibilities and can go travelling, learning and can get the chance to experience new cultures. However, others argue that they won’t appreciate it and that gap years should be for the older generations who have had to work hard all their lives and need a break.
Now, just before you all go rushing to the travel agents to book your round the world ticket, consider all the options. With fuel prices the way they are at the moment the cost of flights has gone through the roof, I recently looked at flights to Reykjavik, a place I have always wanted to visit only to learn that it was going to cost me in excess of £1000 for only the flights!
So, I thought, why not try something a little closer to home? Break your routine, make time for yourself by going shopping with a few friends, getting a manicure or why not try something different or something which you have been scared to before? Join a wine tasting club or complete an abseil for charity.
I recently joined a salsa class and it’s so much fun (as well as it being great for the waistline!) Trying something new can act as a reward for working hard all your life. In a magazine I read recently, I saw a promotion page saying that our children should be rewarded for good behaviour but it’s not just children who need this.
So travelling around the world is a once in a life time experience but that has to come to an end, trying different things will help to develop a new hobby which will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
Go on, try something different, you know you want to.
