Your Cup is Half Full

What will we do with the life we have been given. Be a victim of the past or make the most of our future, by making better choices today.

Life can be full of tragedies. Everyone you meet randomly in the streets, has a story. Everyone you will ever meet, has a story to tell. However, good or bad we all have something to tell. Some people have stories of love, of hate of despair of how someone gave to them or took away. But I’m not interested in hearing someone’s sad story. I’m more interested in hearing how they overcame the struggle.

How they persevered in the face of adversary . I want to know how they came to be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that people’s struggles aren’t important. No, All I’m saying is that the struggles are just a part of life. How people overcome the struggles that’s what I’m interested in hearing. That’s what separates the strong from the weak. The successful from the mediocre, and everyone can be successful. Too many times I meet people who talk about how their lives are messed up, due to their rough childhood. How their parents did this to them, society did that to them and that’s it, they are scarred for life. I’m not saying this isn’t true. I know that childhoods are truly important.

They sort of make up who you become. But if things don’t go well for you as a child, it is important to understand that there is hope. One can still succeed in life, by changing their attitude about life. It takes a lot of work and dedication to see your cup half full rather than half empty. We have to go out and make things happen for ourselves. If we are lacking in some areas of our lives, we must try to improve those areas of our lives. I read a wonderful quote by Teddy Roosevelt in which he says that if you don’t know how to do something, then you should go out and learn how to.

Saying you don’t know how to do something is not good enough, for we all have the capacity to achieve anything we desire. The universe is here to provide us with infinite good. It is our mind that must lead, the body will follow. If you have the right attitude you will have a great life. The place is here. Your time starts NOW.

Some people are so broken that they do not see the hope and opportunities. But you are right, if you get past that, life is good!

too often we tend to blame everything around us as an excuse to us not being able to do something

If you can get past early tramas you have a chance, otherwise you are stuck. Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees.

I totally agree with you here. I happen to be the youngest of 10 kids where my parents were alcoholics. I bore the brunt but went on. I was there in the towers on 9-11. I bore the brunt and went on. We cannot waste our time making excuses for the bad things in our lives but we need to focus on changing and recognizing the good things and then the bad things only remain as some of the things that complete the recipe of us. Very well written. Michael
