10 Things Men Hate About Women

These are the ten things all men hate about women. Note I said men as in real men, this won’t apply for the men that will live in fear of their partner…

Five

We hate the way you question everything we do, we can not leave the house without telling you where we are going… Why do women do this and then acuse us of being controling… We dont ask women where they are going or what they are doing usually because it sparks an argument.. Its just not worth the hassel to ask.

Six

Dont ask us what clothes go with what because we can’t tell you, we dont know what you mean. All we can tell you is trousers go on your legs and a jumper or a blouse will cover your boobs and you might want to put some shoes on. One of our shirts will do for saturday or sunday mornings because this is all you will need. It is up to you dress yourself up we wouldn’t have a clue… Sure whatever we say you just go with something else.

Seven

Men hate shopping, especially clothes shopping. Again we dont know what colours go with what or what handbag goes with what shoes. The truth be known we actually dont care, the only thing on our minds is when is this going to stop, so I can get home and relax. When men shop we know exactly what we want and just go for those items, women on the other hand might have an idea of what they want but could spend the whole day arsing around different shops.

Eight

Stating the obvious is another great trait of the female of our kind. Women always seem to say the most obvious thing in any event, such as something falling, something breaking down or making a loud noise or almost everything. Heres a few examples… I couldn’t stop it from falling… Its a bit obvious you couldnt stop it if its broken on the ground… We’ll have to clean that up… Well we are hardly going to leave it there are we… That wont fit in there… Right again honey it wont sure look at the size of it… I have come to the conclusion that they only state the obvious to buy them time to see our reaction.. Yes honey I will fix it, I will clean it up, you broke it but sure just because you stated the obvious and I love you, I will get it..

Nine

We hate interuptions if we are doing something, women will call men from the other room and expect us to go to them if they want to talk to us.. Beckond to attention like a dog would be.. Come here I want to talk to you, no fear of her getting up and coming to talk to you, oh no, we have to go to you. If men try and pull the same trick we get answered by…. Well you know where I am, you come here im busy… We are treated like dogs men and they see us as them too… After a while it becomes a habit and when we want to talk to them or they us, we just get up and go without thinking about it.

Ten

Women give out about the toilet seat being up constantly. Would’nt it be the same job for us to put it down than it would for you to put up. We dont ask you to put the seat up when you are finished so what gives..

How come I’m not surprised? Should I come out with a thousand things I hate about men? Anyway, those things you’ve mentioned are small things,I don’t know why you are so bugged by them.Sometimes we ask our partner’s for their opinions because we might not be sure what looks better on us, we just want a second opinion. How difficult it is to give an opinion on a dress? WOW ..We give you a whole story before getting to the facts because we want you to know how we got there. How would you appreciate the point of the story if you don’t know how everything happened? I wouldn’t go shopping with a man because you guys are babies. Like so, you should stay home. Why do you need to leave the toilet seat up? Why can’t you see how annoying that is. OMG!!! I would continue this but this post is getting too long.

It is after all, a workable compromise-for example I would say, “let’s try something new for two weeks. If you don’t like it, we’ll try something that interests you, NOT!” And that’s the end of that story, lol.

this is true and the Morgana`s observation is also true.. but me and my wife just laugh it off instead of arguing over it.. acceptance that you cannot control your partner is the key..

I see your point, but these are some of the same things women hate about men. And there is a reason to question a man about their whereabouts because usually there is a good reason for it.

What you wrote is definitely true to quite a large extent, though I wouldn’t go as far as using the word “Hate” in the title. Lol. But seriously, gender differences are just too many and unexplainable. I think it is only inevitable to stereotype, since you are writing an article based on this. But those points sound so true, you gotta admit it. There are just things we don’t understand why the women are doing it, and vice versa. Good and funny take on this issue. Cheers bro!

You should consider writing in a diary instead of on the internet. Keep it under your bed. Don’t let anyone see it. In 10 years or so you can take it out, read it over, and thank yourself for having the wisdom to refrain from embarrassing yourself in a public forum.

This is one of my great upsets about life. I do none of these things on list, my husband does one or two. I’ve never had the same relationship dynamics with the two different people, because people have different reactions around one another. The idea that we all fit into this ‘man’ and ‘woman’ is insane.

It breaks my heart every time I hear someone say it’s a guy thing, or a girl thing. Because we’re all just people, we all have different genetic makeup, different brains, different hormone levels, different backgrounds, morals, methods, and emotions.

Therefor I find things like this misleading :( They degrade the value of a relationship by placing a high premium on such generalized everyday stuff. I despise shopping, but if myself or my husband particularly need something, we both have the day off–why not go together? I honestly don’t know how people can believe something like this. Too many details about your day? It’s so petty! How on earth do these things even come close to mattering? If you’re WITH a person, shouldn’t you be overjoyed in their company? And I don’t know about the rest of the world, but it seems like most of us have to work, and that’s a big chunk of a persons time and energy. At the end of my day and the start of my weekends I try and make the most of the little time that I actually DO get to spend with my partner.

Sorry, this is just about the content, it’s still well written.

    Well written though!

steve, much as I like you, this is awfully generalised and sexist. Not all men and women act like that, and using the pronouns “we” and “you” is pretty harsh, it makes is sound as though all men are united against a common enemy.

It’s sort of funny, I suppose, but the raging feminist in me won’t let this sort of thing slip, sorry.

Oh and the toilet seat thing… who cares?

I enjoyed the humor in this article. So many articles floating around triond are full of generalized stereotypes about men. Classic Mars v. Venus. Great article!!My husband and I enjoyed a nice laugh from this one.

Some commenters are taking this way too seriously! I’m with rutherfranc on this one – these are things to joke about! I will plead guilty on 2,4,6,&7 – especially #7. At the mall, men hunt, women gather. That’s why they put chairs by the dressing rooms. I am finding out how much frustration my hubby has put up with me dragging him along to shop, now that our 2 teenage girls are shopping for clothes – I’ve created little shopping monsters in my image.
The best book I have ever seen on this topic is “What men understand about women, by Lee Ezel – All of the pages are blank.

wow! my comment needs some editing.

While some people take this in a joking context, I still really can’t see the humor in any of it. I see too many men and women growing into these stereotypes BECAUSE they’re so widespread. This is a form of media, and today’s world is shaped by the media. It’s influential towards growing minds, children, and idiots. It puts no value on the intimate connection of a partnership, which is one of the most beautiful and rare things in this world!

When a child grows up surrounded by things of this nature (Look at the sheer volume of TV sitcoms on similar topics–Everybody loves Raymond, How I met your Mother, Home Improvement, Rules of Engagement…the list is long) you don’t think that has some influence and impact on them? It shows kids that it’s okay to belittle their partner. It draws a great big line right in front of their eyes, that further divides the genders.

Sorry for hijacking your comments :(

This is a very generalized list, or very specific to what you see as your partners faults and annoyances. Either way, your comments above reflect that you have struck a nerve with your audience!

Kudos for getting your readers involved, getting them to have a conversation with others about your topic, and for getting them to feel real emotion over stereotypes.

This is all tongue-in-cheek humor, but so many people today are so wired to resent and resist everything they feel may cast some doubt on their image. This society has reached a point where everything has to be politically correct and most people think they are entirely equal, but common sense dictates. People need to loosen up. I agree about the toilet seat. If we are all equal, then why is it an issue if a man leaves the seat up?

    Dear Stephen,

I think this a very popular topic with men and yes, there is always going to be difference between men and women as right from the birth when parents start treating them differently, they are bound to be different. If both sex was treated equally then I guess there would be much understanding and less expectation.

However, I partially liked your point four, as I do believe that is important for one to confront the situation or person when they are facing any problem and it is not necessary that you behave in same manner. You can do it decently and in a soft manner so that you don’t hurt other person like they do.

We human have one problem when someone hurts us; we try to do same with them. Instead of trying to be nice and explain them what you felt when they did so and so with you. We can hope that they will understand and stop hurting.

    God Bless!

this was the most fair sounding article of such topic i have come across… however… do women really do this?

I’ll address it each number at a time…

    1. I’ve known many men to jump to conclusions in such a way. I personally do not, I ask questions. Which I am sure, you would also complain is annoying… oh look in number 5 you complain women ask too many questions. 8/ So… then what are women meant to do.. oh thats right, we should be mind readers.

    2. I most certainly make plans without consulting my partner. Again, this is clearly not a female only thing, its a rude person thing. Men do this as well.

    3. Funny thing is I generally dont talk about my day, but i do ask my partner about his day…. and guess what, when the shoe is on the other foot men also tell you every little weird and wonderful detail… which in my partners case includes how large his bowel movement was… or its unique consistancy.

    4. This is a PERSON thing… men do this too… a lot of people do this because they want a sounding board, to hear ideas so they can make an informed decision… what you were complaining in number 1 that women dont do…. Im seeing a pattern developing here… your wife must be so confused.

    5. If you dislike telling your partner where you are going, somethings wrong, shes going to pick it up and she is going to ask. She may want to know because she is going out later and wants to know if she can borrow the car, or if your plans conflict. But if you are simply walking out the door saying “see ya later!” of course she will want to know. I havent been with a man that did not ask me where i was going… or if they go out and get home before me… asking me where i have been. I have never been offended or annoyed by it, I have nothing to hide.

    6. Ive heard women do this. I dont give a f**k about fashion, I know what i like and thats what im going to wear. I also hear women often go through a million outfit changes before they settle on one. Not me, pretty much everything i have goes with everything else… its not rocket science. Ive never asked someone such questions… though I occasionally ask if what i am wearing is appropriate for the event my partner arranged for us to attend.

    7. I hate shopping… eeeespecially clothes shopping. I know what i like in general, i know where to get it, i go in, i buy it if its cheap enough, if it looks like it will fit i wont try it on, if its a complex design, i might spend a hurried moment in the dressing room feeling like my life is slipping away from me as i waste it putting on and taking off clothing. Unless its toys… of course… a new computer, a new car… now thats exciting.

    8. This one is mind boggling. Are you seriously attributing this to women? If I drop something and it breaks, I curse. I might even tell the broken mug its stupid and deserves its unfortunate death as I get the broom out and take care of my own mess.

    9. I never call to my partner from another room unless its an emergency… like I am injured and bleeding to death and i cant possibly get up. To call from another room is not a female trait… my father does it LOL Its merely a rude person trait. Also… everybody hates interuptions when they are doing something… and guess what… men interupt women while they are busy as well… again… its all got to do with manners and respect. Clearly you have only met ball busting hardcore women.

    10. The toilet seat. Its simple. Men should put it down, because if a lady is in a hurry or half asleep and the toilet seat is up, when she isnt expecting it, she will fall into the loo. LOL Imagine, having all your bits dunked in cold toilet water when you least expect it. You would be a bit cranky too. If the toilet seat is down, worst that can happen is if the guy doesnt see it, he might pee a bit on it. But whats that matter, they already pee all over the floor anyway xD

Cheers dude, you reminded me of the ever raging battle between men and women, that exists for absolutely no reason.
